Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

A heads up to the folks that are updating for the 120Hz screen. You will NOT get 120Hz display at QHD resolution and should downgrade it to FHD+ otherwise the screen will go to 60Hz mode

Very disappointing to me as the main reason I used to buy Samsung phones was the beautiful screens with QHD resolution

Anything that you don't really like from the Pixel 4a 5G that makes you want to ditch it so quickly? The Pixel 4a 5G got great reviews. The Pixel 4a 5G paired with the great iphone trade-ins were really awesome deals.
Lot of people got the phones to resell (using spare phone lines not really using Fi service except min $20/mo) -- sale price and high trade in values

I'm going to switch my 4a5g to another phone on 61st day then pause service and try to sell the phone -- traded in my Galaxy S8

Haven't tried recently but in the past it needed to be a new Fi account -- if you're trying to use it with an old Fi account

I also don't see in the offer details how the $600 credit is applied. Is it paid 1/24th at a time over two years, or all at once? I got very wary of Fi's promos after a long fight on the pixel 3xl BOGO offer a few years back, where they changed the terms of the original offer in the middle of the promo and a bunch of people got hosed. I had a screen shot of the original details and was still able (after much back and forth) to finally get my offer through - so just keep records straight!

The discount is applied to the initial purchase price. They take $600 off the price of all the S20 models and $400 off the Note 20 models.

They give you $600 discount upfront but you need to use that new phone on Fi for 90 days (also port number if new Fi account) -- otherwise they'll bill you $600

The 600 is taken right off, and not via bill credits, though you have to activate the phone on Fi and keep it active for 90 days, else they will charge you the $600

You can also get $20 off of your second bill, you can pm me for more details.

You can get a prepaid number and port it over, The cheapest option i have seen is $0.99. There are various other options at $5-$10

You also dont need to port the number now, but at the activation, when you have received your phone, you can enter any number for now and then change it later on, but before activation. So that gives enough time to get a prepaid number

No, but I have been trying to find the same answer myself. Even in this topic people are reporting different answers.
I am gonna lean towards taking this chance. The process is that the Fi SIM needs to be in the Fi phone and be activated first so Google's system can register the device with that SIM. It's basically to make sure Google's system can verify the pairing of the Fi SIM with the Fi phone. Once it's in the system (which should be immediately, but I'll wait a day or two to be sure), the Fi SIM can be removed and the phone can be used with any other SIM.

The most important thing is that the Fi SIM must not be placed into another device. If the Fi SIM is in another device, the Google Fi service will obviously re-connect and phone home to Google and re-register the device, which then it will notice that the device with your Fi SIM is no longer the same device you purchased from Google, and thus flagging you and breaking the whole deal.

This is what I gather, and it makes sense to me. I've placed my order for the S20.

Am not ditching the 4a 5g. Just giving some insight for others on ways they can do the deal. 4a 5g is a tad wide to be a 1 hand phone for me though but I like the wider angle camera and huge battery. 4a was better in size.

i think there is a limit of 5 on them, so maybe the one you have is already over that limit

Their trade-in / returns/ customer service are extremely painful.. it takes months to get a resolution on anything.. until then you're responsible for paying your credit cards.. just sharing my experience.. I'd never use them again..
