Woot seems to have found a few more DJI Osmo Pocket HDs and has them at the same price that they did in October 2020. You may be able to get them for less from Walmart if you can find one in stock at one of their stores.

Absolutely. Gen 2 has a much larger sensor, wider field of view, slightly better depth of field, sharper image, and overall better image quality especially in low light. Keep in mind that DJI's firmware hasn't 'caught up' with the gen2 yet - they tend to push out the hardware and then improve it over time based on user feedback as they did with gen1. That said, gen 1 is still an excellent little camera but I can't justify it even at this price. There was a walmart deal a while back for ~$80 that I would have jumped on.

I agree with this. I also own this one. Gen 2 doesn't add much. It's not not waterproof in Gen 2. If you going with Gen 2, you might as well get the GoPro Hero 9. Also own and loved it.

Two different cameras. Osmo Pocket is for cinematic footage, GoPro is an action camera - they are good compliments to each other though.

Is the better image quality really worth twice the price? Gen 1 is still 4k. Gen 2 is $350 on Amazon right now.

Agree, but image stability is amazing on GoPro 9 that you can definitely record good cinematic footage with it. Shoot in Protune, not SuperView, add matte bar, and etc...
