SEE WIKI FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is likely for those of you who wanted a new iPhone SE on a cheap plan or as a WiFi device and missed the online Cricket deal for $50. I was kicking myself for missing it so I went on a hunt to find a similar deal.

Before I go into the details of this deal, the Cricket deal had the SE at $50 plus a required $60 plan purchase so $110 plus taxes and a required port-in of a new number. This deal is slightly more expensive after codes but only requires a $25 plan and no port-in so it balances out a bit.

At the moment, this is the best I could find for someone who wants/needs the phone now and can't do the current in-store Cricket deal, which is the same as the online deal.

Please note this phone is locked to Simple Mobile for 12 months but should be usable on other Tracfone family brands. If this is incorrect please let me know and I will edit this information.

The deal:

Go to shop.simplemobile.com and enter an email address for a 25% code when you see the pop up. It doesn't have to be the email you end up checking out with. If you don't get a pop up, open the site in a private/incognito window and that should work.

Wait a minute or two and you should get one (they're one time use).

Select the iPhone SE 64gb and the $25 plan. Make sure you choose the one time payment option for $199.

Enter your code and also enter code SM10OFF.

The price will now be $157.49 pre-tax for the phone and the plan.

ADDITIONAL INFO MOVED TO WIKI TO COMPLY WITH SD RULES

Update: as of 1/8/20, the red version is out of stock, black and white still available.

Edit: for anyone interested in the actual phone service as well, here are the details of the $25 plan:

Unlimited Nationwide Talk, Text, and Int'l Text
Unlimited Data: First 3GB at High Speed, then 2G*
Unlimited International Calling** to 69 Destinations (up to 20 unique numbers)
International Roaming†† available to 16 countries in Latin America
$10 International*** Calling Credit
Add a line with this plan for $20. You can add up to 4 additional lines.

Don't forget, you get a free year of Apple TV+. Some good shows on there. You have three months after first setting up your device to take advantage of your free year of Apple TV+. Apple TV+ is on Roku [roku.com], Fire TV, Xbox & PlayStation too.

ORIGINAL POST INFO:

Thank you to the mods for allowing me time to move this here instead of removing the post. If any further changes need to be made, please let me know so this post stays compliant.

Now, I know we can't specifically mention CB here on SD, so I will just say that I was able to get 18% (total of $35.20) back on this for signing up to a site, which you should be able to cash out very easily as soon as the 30 day return window ends. This includes a $10 bonus for new sign up so $25.20 on the purchase itself. To note, I also added code NYE21 to my simple mobile cart even though it didn't take off any additional money, just to have it on there since it was mentioned on the CB site.

This brings the net total down to $122.29 plus taxes, or $12.29 more than the cricket deal. I waited to post this until the CB was verified in my account, which only took a few hours from time of purchase.

There are a few steps involved to get the full discount, but I hope at least a few people get some use out of this. If mods want me to remove the end portion of this post, please let me know as I'm trying to not violate the rules here.

*If you have issues with getting the email pop-up to appear, it seems that it is at the bottom of the simplemobile.com website on any page but not the shop.simplemobile.com site, so you may want to try just simplemobile.com (and scroll down) if you're having issues even in a private/incognito window.

Can we take just 25$ monthly plan once and will not use it for next months onwards. So after 1 yr..it will be unlocked automatically? Or do we need to be on network for 12 months?

Here's a link to the unlocking policy. Point two says you have to "redeem airtime" for each month.

https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/wps/portal/home

I'm honestly not very familiar with TF and Simple mobile but I've always wondered if you could do an annual airtime card for barebones minutes/texts/data and then request unlock after the year. I know TF has them but not sure about Simple (Edit: they don't).

Just to note, while you can use the phone on any TF brand, that time apparently does not count towards unlock.

You could also try looking into r-sim to unlock the phone but it comes with possible downsides if this would be your main phone.

Edit: between SD and Reddit, I'm seeing a very YMMV solution to unlock the phone through TF by activating the phone on a TF annual plan ($60 for the year for barebones usage, $20 if you got in on the eBay deal) and then transferring your service to the sim that comes with the phone and keeping it for 12 months.

Someone on page 10 of this thread reported success with this method while someone else said it didn't work for them on a previous phone. Seems highly YMMV at best but may be worth a shot, especially if you have one of the $20 eBay kits you planned on using anyway.

Here comes unlocking question in every thread of locked phone. Good luck.

Good post and I upvoted it, but did want to give some feedback on the SE 2020 after upgrading to it from a 6S during the Cricket deal. While it's a bit faster for most tasks and the camera seems crisper than the 6S, I was surprised how well an older iPhone compares against it. To me, recent phones have reached the point home PCs were a decade or more ago where the "old" models are more than sufficient for almost any tasks a typical user will throw at it, and going from a 3.0 GHz to 3.7 GHz processor won't make your MS Office open any faster. It seems the days where you could instantly tell the difference between your old phone and the new one as there was a quantum leap in performance are no more. I was sort of expecting the type of boost I got years ago from upgrading from and old LG Voyager to brand new Galaxy S3 and being blown away.

That being said, the flip side to what I just wrote, is that if you are needing a replacement phone or do want an upgrade, then this SE 2020 deal will almost certainly be a great deal for you. I sure as hell wouldn't splurge the extra $ to get an iPhone 12 or the like. For about $150 this is an awesome phone and it will serve you well for many years.

I see 4% cash back on the CB site that I think you used. How did you get $25?

Total wireless is also having same cost. This could be better since you will get the air time card seperately

right now its more of other things instead of performance boost that would matter. like for 12 series, ceramic protection, more ppi, oled display compared to 11 or SE 2020. better screen to body ratio, little improvement in cameras from 11 to 12 series (same class). my relative was using 8 and moved to SE and couldn't feel the difference

It's actually $35.20 and I checked before posting to make sure it's still available. As much as I'd like to help further, SD might take down the post if we break the rules here so I can't mention any further details.

However, I know the one you're referring to and it's not that.

The most I could probably say is that there are sites that compare different CB sites. You should be able to find it that way.
