I actually prefer the wide mouth version as they have stainless steel interiors instead of the non-stick finish.

This company has terrible customer service.

Bought two of these last time they came on sale. The little plastic clip that holds the lid shut broke on one within a month. Contacted customer service and they initially refused to replace under warranty and offered to sell me a replacement lid. Not until I advise them that I would be contacting the BBB did they finally provide a replacement.

I have the smoky blue travel mug. Been using it daily for years and just love it. 16 oz of coffee, or less, is a good amount for me to sip over the morning. Note that the beverage inside will barely lose any heat even if you leave the cap flipped OPEN - the mouth hole just isn't big enough to let much heat out. Only negative for me has been that the spout piece, where I put my lips, has gradually become discolored by the coffee. So it doesn't look pristine. So I'll only give it 4.9 stars.

No the widemouth drinks at the same speed. you should try a water bottle with a chute for faster drinking

These are great. High build quality, sturdy, nice top, I use it daily.

That said it doesn't keep things as well insulated as my old vacuum glass Thermos. Hot coffee will stay hot into the late afternoon but it's not piping hot.

Someone's mentioned about the silicone gasket smelling: I think silicone retains smell if you run it through the dishwasher. I try to hand wash it as much as possible. It's why i don't use silicone baking sheets, as convenient and awesomely nonstick as they are.

The link takes me to the Matte Black version which seems to look like the others? Is that the one you are saying is not wide mouth ie "inferior"? Thanks

Look at the shape of the mug itself, the linked black one tapers, the op's blue 17 dollar one is a perfectly straight cylinder

I've had the 20oz version for 5-6 years and it's held up great despite all the scratches and dings from drops.

I've noticed that the silicone inherently retains strong smells like coffee and tea.

If you use it regularly, you'll just have to live with soaking it in a baking soda water bath to get rid of odors. I do it overnight so I don't have to think about it.

Use a bottle brush to clean the interior and plastic mouthpiece. I like the bottle brush set sold by Oxo.

How long have you owned your Zojirushi?

The silicone stopper and ring gasket are properly installed and closed right?

I've had my 20oz one for 5-6 years and it still insulates incredibly well, despite all the dings and scratches from me dropping it.

My only criticism are that hot drinks are still dangerously hot even after 4-5 hours.

To clarify they're all stainless steel, it's just whether they electropolished or coated with nonstick. Also want to note that you can get the narrow mouth version with slicksteel.
