I'm not at all a beef connoisseur and haven't (and may not ever) try Wagyu beef, but here's the last thread on it: https://slickdeals.net/f/14468324-japanese-wagyu-new-york-strip-loin-roast-a5-grade-11-lbs-999-99

Does this make good cheeseburgers, or is it better in something like pasta sauce?

Spend $75 on a sous vide machine. Pretty much makes it difficult to screw up cooking steaks.

This is on my bucket list but @800 it's still way more than I can spend on steak especially right after the holidays. Great deal compared to normal price.

No actually, you cut it up and cook it a bit more well than usual. So you can't really mess it up. This guy has a good video that's from the pov of americans like us: https://youtu.be/YW249cc4NhQ You can't really eat a lot of it at once either. It's too rich, so it's better if you split this with other people.

No, just cook it like any other steak, for the most part. It has very high fat content so you will get more flare ups if you cook over coals/fire.

My favorite way to cook is slicing very thin (1-2mm), shabu shabu style, or about 5-10mm, Korean bbq style. I don't like it thick, regular steak style.

"Honey... I spent our stimulus money on some beef that we can make for 3 family dinners. Total worth?"....

That's a nice looking steak in that picture, that's for sure!

It's funny, when I walk through the meat department of the local supermarket, I watch people pick out steaks, they look for the ones that have absolutely NO FAT on them. To me that's funny because I look for great marbling and sometimes find steaks that look like they could have been graded prime sold as choice.

It's very easy. Can cook in a pan a few strips at a time for about 90 seconds a side and no need for any oil/butter since the fat from the steak is sufficient. Only need to use salt and pepper. Think of it like cooking bacon. Just like bacon, I wouldn't use a grill. The high fat content makes the steak EXTREMELY filling.
