S & B Golden Curry Sauce Mix, Medium Hot

'Golden Curry' is made with S & B original curry powder and features rich aroma of spices and herbs. A block of Golden Curry Sauce Mix consisting of curry powder, flour, spices and seasoning could quickly transform mundane stew into fine curry simply by adding them to the mixture. Well-balanced mellowness and spiciness for most people. S & B Golden Curry Sauce Mix contains no meat or meat derived ingredients.

Enjoy with rice, bread, noodles, and buns, etc. Using it as a sauce for potatoes or meat dishes, or as a dipping sauce for steamed vegetables is another way to enjoy.

Ingredients: Wheat Flour, Vegetable Oils (Palm Oil, Rapeseed Oil), Salt, Sugar, Curry Powder, Monosodium Glutamate, Caramel Color, Spices (Pepper, Chili Pepper, Garlic, Celery Seed, Mustard), Malic Acid, Disodium Inosinate, Disodium Guanylate

You have to understand this is Japanese instant curry which really tastes nothing like Indian or any south east asian curry. I don't mind the taste but you really have to go in with proper expectations. This is the type of curry that some Japanese restaurants serve with Don Katsu. Even the "authentic" version of this curry tastes nothing like Indian curry as caramelized onions are essentially used as the base which makes this curry thick and sweet.
Good price for S&S but without, it's cheaper at both my local Wal-Mart and Smiths Grocery store. Both sell for $2.49 in store. Makes a great "Chip Shop" curry sauce for any British Ex-Pats out there!
Good deal. This is used to make one of the most amazing pressure cooker dishes ever, japanese beef curry:

My local places don't carry this any more. Good deal.
I guess its subjective if you like it or not, but we use it as a curry base I. Our house. We add lots of spices and things.
Thanks for the post op

A friend gave me some recently. Frankly, it was awful, the whole family agreed. Just read the first 4 ingredients and see if you're tempted.

I've been using 1/2 java and 1/2 Vermont or 1/2 kokumaro and 1/2 vermont to balance different styles. If you have an asian grocery store near by, try mixing with different brands.

This stuff is delicious. Over top of chicken katsu and rice, little sprinkle of cheese on top. Mmmmmm

Who else in here has eaten at the "Curry House" chain in Japan or Hawaii?

I've tried a bunch of japanese box curries.

I would say golden is easily the worst. I'm not saying its inedible but if you compare it to vermont curry (the other easily accessible curry brand in the states), its just not nearly as good.

Personally my favorite brand is kokumaro
