Used to love getting that stuff at the state fair or the Cosmosphere museum. Haven't had it in probably 15-20 years.

DD are flash frozen in liquid nitrogen.

Freeze-dried ice cream is not the same at all and a very Styrofoam-y texture because the moisture was taken out.

fun fact: I still have a packet of freeze dried ice cream I bought at the Air & Space museum in Washington DC in 1983.

That's where I used to get them. I think they were $4 even then, it was ridiculous. That was early 90s though.

I believe you and I were there around the same time. Favorite part of the school trip (the astronaut ice cream, that is), though the rockets were cool, too.

Be careful. The last dozen or more Amazon food items delivered had 3 weeks or less shelf life remaining. It's been getting worse and worse lately. Although I have no history with this specific item.

These are horrible, and seem to have terrible quality control now, check the reviews and photos.
