There seem to be conflicting reports on this laptop - it may or may not have upgradable RAM. Can someone confirm? Saw a video on the Ryzen 3500 where that motherboard had a covered RAM slot (but was still upgradable).

I bought an Acer V5 473p refurbished from eBay back in 2015 actually through Slickdeals. Still going strong, had to replace the power brick and recently replaced the battery with a new one from iFixit that's about it, no other issues. Acer isn't as bad as people say in these comments.

Honestly Never Acer again
I had 2 month old Swift with R5 died on memory like early 2000 laptop. Just normal online only usage. No games etc.
Websites/videos/zoom started getting annoyingly slow. Tried all normal clean up steps. Like early 2000 laptop! Called helpdesk (India). Support guy was not helpful, clearly following script and not going by symptoms, no experience or expertise, asked me to reset completely. RESET.

Still using an Acer Aspire S7 from 2011 with no issues. Wife's s5 from 2013 was fine as well. Every company (dell, msi, acer, lenovo, etc) will have issues wherein people swear never to use them again. Just be thankful if it arises from a $600 laptop and not the $3600 model you have saved 3 years to buy!

So tempted to grab this with the 4700u. If ram upgradable.....sigh

LPDDR4 Ram will always be soldered. Normal DDR4 have slots.
