As I said in earlier post it does NOT! Just watch their TV promo to the left on the phone offer page. It's only about 12 min. Long and 3/4 the way thru the woman says that!

Only the Google Voice number works for free on wifi. The Tracfone phone number won't work on wifi. I strictly give out my GV number.

You can't use the Tracfone phone number without using minutes.

Got this message from tracfone for my iphone 5: Your current phone is not compatible with the network changes, which means you may be experiencing dropped calls and poor reception. Starting January 2021, your device will no longer be supported by the network and it will eventually stop working.
This moto G should replace, correct?

Yes, that iPhone 5 is eight years old and doesn't have VoLTE compatible. The newer phones do.

You should add Power to the title. Good deal on a great phone if your OK with Tracfone. Almost certainly comes with a VZW sim.
So that would explain why this is in the spec?
Mode: CDMA

I'm assuming from the conversations here this will work with GSM just fine right? You would think they would actually maybe list it lol

Using wifi data does not, but using wifi calling does. . .

"WiFi Calling doesn't give you the ability to make free calls and texts. (Read further along to learn how to do this with Google Voice.) You are still charged the normal rate for calls and texts by Tracfone."

LOL, TF promotes wifi calling as a Free feature that incurs no other costs (other than your minutes). . .so not a free feature.
Sure it's free. Just like "free in-store pickup" is free :-)

1500 MB of data per year? That is 125 MB a month and really a joke. 125 minutes of talk per month as well.
Tracfone is very good for people that do not need a lot of talk time or data as they can have a phone line for under $10/month.
They can also purchase call time, texts, and data separately, $10 for 500 minutes, $10 for 1GB, and so on. The '500MB free when you purchase 1GB' coupon is available frequently, making it $10 per 1500MB.

if you buy and use these for emergency phones, like in the car, make sure you use them at least once every 30 days else after about 90 days they will suspend the phone per the T&C.
I was wondering about this. If I go overseas for extended periods, can I do something with it that shows I used it and keep it active? Phone call is probably not a good idea, not sure if they have text roaming, or maybe intl data counts as usage?

The phone comes with a CDMA SIM card using Verizon network. If you want to use a different network you need to get a Tracfone GSM SIM card.

I bought this phone from amazon for $55. It was surprised that it was super laggy at first. I disabled most of the the Moto apps and now it's good.

Hmm. I haven't opened the two I bought yet - was waiting until our current year of service expires in about 4 months. We have the Tracfone version, not unlocked.

Is there some sort of "plain Jane" (vanilla) version of Android that we can put on this thing which would get rid of any bloatware? Or would I need to wait a full year of use on Tracfone to unlock before we could do this?
