Did anyone have their order cancelled by HSN automatically? This is horrible. They asked all the information such as credit card, address and get your order cancelled for no reason.
Yes, it happened to me. I tried to re-order and it wouldn't let me and told me to call customer support. They needed to verify my address and phone number for some reason, after that it would allow me to order it and it went through this time. Kind of annoying to have to jump through the hoops but worth it for this deal.

The 1 year service with the phone cannot be used to renew existing Tracfone line, right?
Yes it can. My friend uses Tracfone and got a similar deal not long ago, he got a new phone and set it up to continue his existing Tracfone service with this 1 year of service and data.

Looking into getting a Moto G power for my mother in law and adding her to my Xfinity Mobile. I have a few questions if someone would be so kind:

Does the Moto G Power take good pics?

What is the difference between the Moto G Power and the G7 I think I saw someone mention?

How long will these moto's get updates?

Any other good phones in this price range that are unlocked and will work on Xfinity Mobile?

Thanks,

-Guru
Here's a full review [tomsguide.com] if you want it. The camera is fine, it takes photos that will be just fine for the majority of people. It's not at the level of the cameras in more expensive flagship phones obviously, but it's not low quality either. I think she'll be happy with the camera.

This phone, the "G Power" is really the G8 Power. It's one year newer than the G7 Power and has significant upgrades. Higher res screen, more storage, faster processor.

Motorola phones are not the best with updates. Typically they'll get the security patches and one update to the next version of Android, usually a while after it comes out.

There is almost no way to answer this question objectively in a simple way. Good as compared to what. It is not nearly as good as the cameras on current flagship phones but far from the worst camera out there. Check the review sites for detailed camera reviews with actual sample pictures.

The 2020 version of the moto g power is essentially a G8. Motorola removed the generation branding in some markets. That being said, G7 refers to entire family of phones so without knowing the specific model it is difficult to compare.

First, it is worth noting that the phone on this deal not unlocked and won't work on xfinity.

xfinity is fairly picky about phone support so I am not sure what does and doesn't work there but if you are buying right now I would check out the new Nord N100. Currently selling for $162. Other than that, it is more about waiting for something to go on-sale. Alternatively, if this is a new line on your plan, xfinity has some decent promo deals if you are planning to stick with them and don't mind bill credits.

Amex Offers has 5.5% back on purchases at HSN using their link. YMMV.

Yes. The Moto G Power does take nice pictures. It isn't on par with my pixel 3a or iphone SE 2020 cameras but those phones cost significantly more. A nice pro is it looks great to see a picture with 19:9 ratio in a huge 6.4". Screen size helps to enjoy pictures. When I was trying to take a real close up, it wouldn't work with my pixel 3a but I got the shot with the motorola macro. The Moto camera is good but I would also recommend gcam parrot. The gcam parrot is better and is my default camera.... I ran a side-by-side camera test with my Pixel 3a, iPhone SE 2020, Moto z2 force, Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power. The Pixel 3a had the best camera to me and that same order is what I would rank them which shouldn't be a surprise considering the prices. I thought the gcam with the Moto z2 force did better than the gcam with the Stylus and Power. The Moto G Stylus/Power have very solid cameras though so don't think they have bad cameras. The Moto G Stylus night vision mode is terrible (unusuable) but the Moto G Power doesn't have that mode.

This is a Verge review and they are PRAISING the Motorola G Power/Stylus cameras.

As for updates? I think security updates are overrated. I say this as a pixel 3a and iphone se 2020 owner. Nothing wrong getting a security update every 2 or 3 months with Motorola. Phones still work safely fine even when they stop getting updates. There are a ton of good free security apps that one can use if they are worried about hackers/viruses..... With system updates? There is very little difference between system updates. I couldn't even tell you the difference between android 10 and 11 on my pixel 3a. To me, it isn't big deal. I say the same thing with all the ios system updates. Very minor tweaks. If motorola gets 1 system update, ok. If motorola gets 2 system updates, ok..... Lots of updates adds higher price to phones.

Thanks for the info. It does sound like this would be a great phone for my in law. Now I just need to find a good deal on it. I need it to work on Xfinity Mobile though. They do sell that model but it's currently full price $250. I think if it's the unlocked version from a different retailer it would work though. Or maybe XM will have it on sale soon.

I want to switch my existing TF service from Verizon to the AT&T network.

Would it be possible to transfer my service to this phone on TF Verizon, then switch SIMs to use TF AT&T without losing my phone number of minutes?

My iphone x was going all green screen buggy. So, I had to get this phone per my budget (and wife with a knife). I was skeptical to say the least. However, I'm typing this message on it now and loving it! It's been over a year, I am on it almost ALL day, every day (disabled) watching movies, videos, reading books, etc. I will NEVER go back!! "The unlocked Moto G Power was released in April 2020 with the Tracfone version first available in the fall of 2020."

You haven't been using this phone for "over a year", you probably have a different Motorola model.

You have to wait a year, not just buy a year.
You meant a total of 1yr service with them right?

Could you be more specific about where on the website? The FAQ has 409 hits on "unlock phone" and all seem to be about unlocking the screen.

You can do that by transferring you current Tracfone service to the new phone, your remaining days, minuets etc will be added to the new phone. I recommend making an account on Trac's website and using chat, first asking them to confirm your existing account totals so you have a record in case something gets lost.

Huh, I just realized something. On the bottom it says,

Customers are eligible for this program only once every twelve months.

Does that mean that if you have two active lines that are both eligible for unlocking, only one of them can be unlocked in that year and the other has to wait another year for it to be unlocked?

Have no experience with Tracfone or Android, but I'm looking for a spare phone where I can isolate snooping apps like WhatsApp/Instagram.

Would this phone be good for this use case? Can I easily turn off data and just use Wi-Fi without being charged? Also, after the 1 year can this be used on Verizon or Visible? Thanks in advance
