Flat and versatile speakers. I have 3 pairs of the 530s. They look cheap and feel cheap, but are good speakers. A lot more versatile than my ELAC UB5s (a little too warm and I only use them to listen to FM nowadays) and easier to drive too (the ELACs shine with beautiful bass when given >150w/ch). I also have infinity R162s (not neutral but I enjoy them for certain types of music - beautiful high-range when mated with my hafler amp but bass is lacking) and the wharfedale 11.2s (not bad for its $199 sale price but not as versatile as the 530s). I also had ELAC b6 before - way too warm and I got rid of them. For desktop uses I think R162s work better at lower volume but I also use my modded creative T20s a lot which are very clear when given clean regulated linear power.

I love my 530s. Always been tempted to pick up the 520c and try replacing my Klipsch setup in my living room... can't bring myself to do it though. Will probably keep my 530s on stands near my PC. They got too big to keep on my desk during work from home ops.

There's only one way to find out which speakers are right for you.I have the 530s and I like them. I haven't heard the other speakers referenced yet.

I have the 530s and the ELAC B6.2s. The 530's are significantly better. Way more pronounced sound stage, much clearer bass and just more musical. The ELACs are great, the 530's are fantastic.

Since you are still reading, a pair of 570's at $400 is even more better. That has been their price off and on lately.

If you are driving them with 530s , 520c is good but for towers I would recommend RC263. HTH.
