I have Hulu basic free with Sprint, and the ads are extremely annoying. They keep increasing the ad time as well as number of ads shown. Yes, its regular price for basic is cheaper, but still. I would just go ahead and pay the more expensive no-ad plan.

I can't believe we've moved past the model of paying for a service and then having to watch ads, and yet so many people are ready to welcome it back.

If you watch ads, the service should have no fee. Don't give in.

Spend it on Prime and watch some Pluto and Peacock for free.

No Ad plan is worth it for $11.99. The ads on Hulu are awful. That said, if you can't afford that and don't wanna watch ads. There's other ways....

"both" ain't a thing anymore Wink

p.s.
on the deal... my god the Ads are bad on Hulu, so many and so so bad. this is a great deal for students, i'm not knocking that, but i am knocking the sheer quantity of Ads. I cancelled cable years back and had setup SlingTV for my wife to continue watching her TV shows, she grew out of all the silly network TV stuff and asked me to setup Disney+/Hulu/ESPN deal. So I set that up through Disney bundle and turned on Hulu, after watching a single show i cancelled the bundle and setup Disney+ and Hulu (no Ads) separately... the Ads were that bad, one more damn Chanel perfume commercial and I was going to lose it Wink
You and me both! The same ads, over and over and over, ad nauseum!

This thread seems to be turning into a butthurt fest.
As with most threads, you get the easily-offended on their soapboxes to tell you how insensitive you are. I feed on their tears.

By the way, in keeping with the original intent of these threads, this is a good deal if you can deal with all the commercials. And they are plentiful, and extremely repetitive to be sure!

I got the $1.99/mo Black Friday promo. No tax in my state. I use a Discover card. I don't use the card for anything else. Discover writes off balances under $2.00. I've been enjoying free Hulu.

Peoples obliviousness to trolls amazes me. Its like its their first day on the internet.

People in this thread think they are actually arguing against a guy who thinks students should never watch TV.

It also boggles my mind that people welcome 'ad supported' with open arms.

Ads? Free.
No ads? Not free.

I think there shouldn't be an in-between.
