Wowtac is a pretty frequent budget recommendation over at the flashlight subreddit. Take a look there to determine if the price is right and if it fits your needs before buying though. I think wowtac is one of the companies that always has standing % off codes to trick ppl into thinking they're on sale.

I have their one headlamp and I like it. Got most of the features I was looking for inexpensively.

At this $20-$30 price range and in this slightly over 1,000 lumen category, it's just a matter of what you're looking for, what your preferences are. I have a few budget lights which have been great for years, and I've paid $70 for a light which failed after 2 years. I actually prefer these cheaper lights now because they get better (brighter) every year and I allow myself to buy a new one every year or so to get the new brightest thing around for cheap.

There's a deal on the new one... can't remember what it's called.

Check on their FB group (not page). It's not an EDC, though, if that's what you're looking for.

It's bigger than that... still hand-held, though, but the type you keep in the truck/house.


Edit: It's the SD01 (technically a diving flashlight, but I know people are using it for regular/everyday applications)... $90, 6k lums:

You could be right. With so many junk heavily shilled on SD these days, this could be one of those "hidden gems" that Chinese did a good job on by accident. Looks very smilar to the Olight Baton that I've been using daily.

Thanks. I guess I hadn't realized that Wowtac was budget ThruNite.

Do you have any? I've been wanting to pull the trigger on this A6 model (or the newer A7 priced at $30), but... the weird/nonstandard charging bothers me.

I don't know if it's for good reason, or if the 'cheapiness' inside of me is looking for excuses not to spend the money. Big Grin
