I dunno why we still have men's size and women's size shoes. We all have feet and it just comes down to how big our hooves are.

Is Columbia a trusted brand for hiking shoes, or shoes for that matter?

I'm usually pretty chill with how shoes look but those are some especially ugly shoes.
I agree, some of them are ugly.

The OutDry (waterproof) shoes we've gotten so far have been great. I don't know if it's Goretex or not but definitely waterproof and doesn't make your feet hot.

These have been this price for 2-months now. Any targeted ad from Brad's Deals shows this.

Width of the foot is at play and color preferences too.

I still don't know how anyone buys shoes online without trying them on. Unless you've bought shoes from a brand before you don't know what size from a given brand actually fits.

I ordered these a couple months ago and I love them. They are very comfortable and warm. I work outside some and my feet always get cold but not when I wear these. Great find.

I can't speak to it overall but I did buy a pair of outdoor shoes from Columbia for the first time (Columbia Vent model) and was pleasantly surprised. They look like pretty normal shoes but are so well vented that you can go barefoot and hose them off afterward. I'm considering these hiking shoes just because it seems like they put actual thought into the outdoor use of their shoes.

I saw these on TV, on the Geico becoming your parents commercial.

They're decent, but they're cheaper than the alternatives for a reason. A lot of people say they start breaking down relatively quickly if they're used hard, although I've had an okay time with them in the past (five or so years ago was my last pair) for general use.

I see a lot of people recommending Oboz, Merrell, Salomon, Keen, but you pay a premium for better materials and construction that might not be worth it if you're not hiking regularly.
