Is Columbia a trusted brand for hiking shoes, or shoes for that matter?
The OutDry (waterproof) shoes we've gotten so far have been great. I don't know if it's Goretex or not but definitely waterproof and doesn't make your feet hot.
I dunno why we still have men's size and women's size shoes. We all have feet and it just comes down to how big our hooves are.
Width of the foot is at play and color preferences too.
I still don't know how anyone buys shoes online without trying them on. Unless you've bought shoes from a brand before you don't know what size from a given brand actually fits.
I ordered these a couple months ago and I love them. They are very comfortable and warm. I work outside some and my feet always get cold but not when I wear these. Great find.

I can't speak to it overall but I did buy a pair of outdoor shoes from Columbia for the first time (Columbia Vent model) and was pleasantly surprised. They look like pretty normal shoes but are so well vented that you can go barefoot and hose them off afterward. I'm considering these hiking shoes just because it seems like they put actual thought into the outdoor use of their shoes.

(not speaking from experience, just a guess)
Me: I wish the logo was bigger.
