I would very much prefer side facing cameras, or at least 2 wide angle cameras on either side facing inside so it can record sides of the vehicle a little bit. For rear, your best bet is to set up 2nd camera individually.
I am looking for a low-profile dashcam, I doubt this would be good with the way it mounts, and probably wire dangling from the side since you have space from glass to the dashcam and not mount-powered like Viofo cams.

You use the hardwire kit that connects on low energy through the odb port of your car.

I was considering mirror tap for cleaner install but I think that gets complicated.
Looking to buy a cheaper one.for a.family member who needs inside recording for Uber/Lyft with night vision.
How does this hook up to power? I assume you don't have a cord running down the windshield to the 12v supply?

I installed a dashcam in my girlfriends car this past weekend with a hardwire kit, wasn't too difficult actually. Just need to choose a kit that has the same USB port as the cam and same voltage output as well. You just go into your car manual to see what fuse is always on while the engine is off, sometimes accessory outlets are the ones that are always on. Make sure you get a hardwire kit that comes with a fuse adapter or as it's called "add a fuse" so you can use two fuses in one port.
