Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

In the box, there was a card with support email to get the hardwire kit for free. I also asked for a suction cup mount and they sent that out for free as well. $15.99 + $5 value.

Does that work with other cams as well? I see there is hardwire kit with low voltage cut off but that connects to fuse box.
I was considering mirror tap for cleaner install but I think that gets complicated.
Mirror tap is simple. Just make a use you fuse the camera lead off of that.

Total Noob here..
How does this hook up to power? I assume you don't have a cord running down the windshield to the 12v supply?
I think it plugs to your cigarette plug if I'm not mistaken or whatever those things are called lol

Out of curiosity, if you're not a ride-share driver, why would you want a camera recording you within the car?

Helpful when a cop Claims you're using your phone or not wearing your seatbelt. Can also show you're not at fault during an accident.

This dash cam does not seem to use a capacitor. "Capacitor based dash cams will do far better in hot climates"

That's not how the ODB port design to be use. I wouldn't touch it.

I've been using the power bank. Need one that can recharge faster. The trip to work is too short to recharge the power bank for the 8hr running while in the parking lot.

Decent camera, but be warned:

I purchased this to record a road trip. The video is saved in chunks up to 10 minutes each, and I've found no easy way to stitch them without losing the extra data, or to turn them into something like a time-lapse.

You cannot disable the front or rear facing camera, so even when you don't need both, it always records both, taking up space on the card.

It seems you must use their software to view GPS information such as speed and location. If your signal is poor, or it just doesn't lock on, it jumps your location to some place in Europe, throwing off the mapping.

Does anyone know if this would work with a battery pack. I'm thinking I could leave a battery pack connected to my car so it charges when I drive and then connected to the camera. Does anyone know if this would work? If not how long do you think a 10,000mah battery would last? Thanks to SD I have several laying around.
Yeah it should work off of a battery pack like that. Not sure about how long a charge would last, but should probably be enough.

It doesn't use capacitor OR battery. Requires power to stay on.
