6 volt s worth the 2.5 months of summer. This is a starter like training wheels. Once he she gets the hang of it - boom - you want the 12volt and wonder how long this will sit in the shed being unused. Got my 6 volt used for 35. Good for that initial first round. Skip it and get 12 volt. Or buy used less than 35 and sell it to the next for 35. Majority should skip 6 volts though.
hooked up my 18v Milwaukee battery to a 12 volt power wheels - talk about whippin it 😆
Plus run time is under 15 mins. Not worth it IMO

Is 6v worth even 78$?..6V doesn't have that much power..

We just wired in an adapter from amazon to use 18v dewalt batteries on our old 6v kid trax mini cooper. Haven't gotten a kid on it yet but looking forward to doing some donuts til we blow the motor
Also, anyone looking to overvolt this thing. Please understand, you will absolutely want to replace the motors in here too, Even doubling to a 12v (slow) will likely way overpower motors intended to be run at 6v.
I just overvolted a 12v ride-on to 18v. I do not reccomend going more than 1.5x's the power without replacing motors and gear box. Otherwise you will just destroy your motors and gearbox.
My screw driver has higher voltage than this. Unless you're just buying the frame and planing on tinker with the electronics and swap out some of the mechanical parts, don't waste your money.

Bought a similar one from Walmart years ago and have been wondering to upgrade the battery voltage for a long while. So you mean it's too risky to put on a 12v? It's too hard to find a 9v, and my guess is that it wouldn't make a big difference.
Anyway, I agree that DO NOT buy this. My 3 year old never tries to ride again after the first trial.
