About this Book
Publisher Summary: It is the story of Richard Mayhew, a young London businessman with a good heart and an ordinary life, which is changed forever when he discovers a girl bleeding on the sidewalk. He stops to help her—an act of kindness that plunges him into a world he never dreamed existed. Slipping through the cracks of reality, Richard lands in Neverwhere—a London of shadows and darkness, monsters and saints, murderers and angels that exists entirely in a subterranean labyrinth.

Every time this book comes up on Slickdeals I show up to give my recommendation: this is a modern, gothic Alice in Wonderland with a compelling story, original characters, and one of the best co-protagonist stories in modern literature. Gaiman's writing is so detailed and poetic that it will spoil you to other popular writers. Follow this with American Gods, Anansi Boys, and Good Omens if you want to get the full Gaiman experience. Neverwhere was my first, and favorite of his books.

Purchased for $2.99 April 2020 (probably from a slickdeal post). Still haven't got around to reading it (or any other Neil Gaiman book), but seems like a good deal for fans or the curious.
Read the description and it sounds interesting so I got it. Ended up being free due to all my built up book coupons. Will try to read it once I finish my last SDs buy The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms.

Very good story, and Neil Gaiman's one of the better readers when it comes to audio books.
He's one of the absolute best. And the two villains in this novel are two of the best villains of all time when read by Neil Gaiman. Think two-bit street thugs with the gravitas of millenia.
Read it for a course in college. It was a good read. Not my favorite or anything but entertaining and kept my interest. Worth the read if you like the genre.
Cannot recommend this enough. Neil Gaiman is a master of his craft and Neverwhere is one of his best. It was my personal choice as his best work until The Sandman was released as a novel last year.
If Grimdark Alice in Wonderland sounds good to you, check out this man's work.
Also, if you like audiobooks, Gaiman narrates his own work and it's excellent. Neverwhere as an audiobook is one of the best things I've ever listened to.
