Anyone else think it's odd that the Navy Exchange carries products designed, manufactured and sold by the Chinese government?
Can you find a TV made anywhere but South East Asia? I do not think Curtis Mathes Electronics makes too many LED TVs.
Heck try finding almost any household electronics not made in Asia , or anything from bikes to bathmats. If you find anything made in North America or Europe it will cost at least 50% more.
And for a broke service member (I made $8k a year back in the late 80s as a sailor) every dollar matters.

That is a very common way of avoiding import taxes and to put a USA sticker on something. Send all the parts here made in Asia and have a robot put in the last 10 screws.
