I've had a Tumi messenger bag as my daily driver for over 10 years now...finally started falling apart.

Couldn't find a decent replacement messenger (not a fan of Timbuk), but found this one one sale from $475 to under $180. The green is more subdued in person. My messenger bag was also green, and I always got compliments on it. Fantastic bag so far, at a terrific price...wouldn't pay over $500, but for the price it's terrific.

Yes, I know nearly $200 is still expensive for a backpack. And the Tumi quality/warranty isn't what it used to be. And Tumi isn't "cool" anymore.

Looks ok. This just seems too bulky for me. I feel like if you need a laptop bag go with Swissgear which are just as bulky, will do the same job as this, and under $100.

See my comment above this one. You are getting the Tumi brand but you may not get the same Tumi quality and you probably won't get the same Tumi warranty.

Because people feel extra good when they buy something at 10x it's worth. It's where placebo effect and douchy meet.

This thing doesn't seem that attractive or awesome. Kinda fugly and swampy color imo.

The ones at Max's are not. The ones at Rack are, and have the same everything. They are simply close outs. This bag was updated last year I believe.
