"Buy Asus", so that's probably where I'll be looking for my next router.
Replaced all Netgear wireless with Ubiquity AP. Very happy with it.

Enable AX mode: ON. I paid for an AX router, and I'll be damned if I have to turn off the element that provides high speed for the new tech.
LAN Setup: address reservations defined for ALL devices. This was actually the last thing I did and seemed to be the final element that led to 100% stability.
QoS: OFF. Just don't...everything I've read for years including an article at Tom's Hardware says Negear QoS is more trouble than it's worth.
Enable Implicit Beamforming: OFF. Implicit beamforming isn't good enough and seems to create deadzones that aren't otherwise there. If it was a higher performing unit and had explicit, that might be better.
Enable Airtime Fairness: ON. Having this on has been more stable than off and is supposedly better for compatibility. I had no performance changes, so leaving it on.
Turn UPnP On: OFF. This should be turned off for security.
Hopefully this will help you get the most out of this router until a SlickDeal on something better comes along.
