S21+ is a downgrade from S20+ in every category except larger battery. So why would anyone upgrade? Are we dumb or is Sammy crazy??

I would wait to see some YouTube indepth reviews before trade in a S20 device for the S21. Snapdragon 888 debuted on Xiaomi 11 already showed heating and power consumption issue. Given the S21 still only has 4000 battery, I don't have much confidence in its battery life.
Sd888 is essential an overclocked 865, same architecture same GPU just higher frequency, a money grab by Qualcomm

Whole Deal is kind of a joke. No sane iPhone 12 users will trade in for Samsung. No s20/note 20 users would trade in to downgrade

Extra $100 off if I use Verizon financing. Should be no lock on keeping that right? I should be able to use Verizon financing and go to Verizon and pay in full with no issues?

Could someone please confirm if s/he has done that successfully?

I have never dealt with network locked phone. So, I would appreciate if someone could please tell me if network locked means that full price has not been paid. I am buying At&T locked one from ebay and planning to trade-in

If you have tmobile or sprint that is by far the best way to go if you plan on staying with them. I cancelled my samsung order and upgraded on sprint and got $800 trade in on the ultra and pay $16 a month for 24 months. Also i will get the $200 samsung bonus for pre ordering it so cost for the ultra will be in the 200s

Ok - I figured out the perksatwork EPP error. Do not login to your samsung account until you are asked to in checkout. It will force you to login there, and you should see that the discount remains at that point. I just did this and ordered. Now to wait and check that my perksatwork wowpoints are added...

I traded in my S20FE (2 months old), and paid $300 before tax, including buds pro, MOGA controller, and s-view cover. Hopefully will get 10% rktn and 30% wowpoints

They are 2 different manufacturing process - 7 nm vs 5 nm

What makes you say that?
  • The lack of MicroSD is probably the biggest issue for me personally. I have gotten by fine with 64 and 128gb phones in the past, but it really isn't enough these days. Recording video in 4K takes up about 1gb for every minute of video. Having external memory allows me to load up a bunch of audiobooks and movies on the phone.
  • They downgraded the ram from 12 to 8gb
  • Plastic instead of glass back (makes no difference to me personally)
  • Lower screen resolution from 3200 x 1440 to 2400 x 1080 (although if you're running in 120hz it doesn't really make a difference either)

All that for an incrementally better chip, probably better fingerprint reader, and a flat screen.

Yea yea, go watch the reviews before talking, sd888 is a 5mn chip that's less efficient and more power hungry than sd865

I tried it twice. It didn't work. FYI, the tablets are back in stock.

Didn't go through the whole thread but I think it's worth mentioning the S21 line up doesn't have MST, which was what Samsung Pay used for contactless payment that generally worked for almost any credit card reader, even where Apple and Gpay didn't work because they use NFC.

Sammy is taking out MST going forward, so what may have seemed like a magical feature of Samsung phones will no longer exist.
