I have the older version of this and while the battery is not meant to be user serviceable, replacing it yourself is both easy and cheap. A new battery is about $15 on Amazon and replacing it just involves using a shim to pop the case open. ifixit.com has a guide.

Your advice is still good advice. I'm just saying it's not the end of the world if you do have to replace the battery.

This same unit was on SD a couple weeks ago for $108 shipped direct from FLIR. Received mine before Christmas, works great btw.

Do you have a link for the battery? I've tried to find one with the same specs as original and didn't see one.

I have an earlier model that uses a different battery, but according to this reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/flirone/...placement/ I believe this battery should work as a suitable replacement https://www.amazon.com/battery-Re...07BTT6N48/

Based on the reddit post it is a slightly smaller capacity.

I have the Pro One with lightning adapter and it can be adjusted to butt right up against my iPhone no matter what kind of case I have on. I would never use this with an adapter because you would be begging to snap the connector off.

It's really fun to play with. I can see which wires in my panel are warmer than others. I can see animals in the trees and their latent footprint heat (probably the most fun you can have with it is seeing footprints). I used it in a crawl space in the middle of the winter last year to see how far down my drain clog was. Looking for spots where cold air is coming in is cool.

Bear in mind that this unit has half X-Y (quarter) the resolution of the non-LT version. I had a Chinese thermal camera with these specs years ago and wasn't satisfied.

Have the non LT version. Very satisfied. The software is a bit wonky but has lots of features once you learn how it works.

The resolution is quite low, but it's still higher quality and precision than Chinese copies

They don't check them out usually to my knowledge. For a fee, they will 3D print your 3D model file.

It definitely depends on the area, but I have seen these available in multiple libraries across different counties. Just like some have 3D printers that you can use for free or a small fee.

Good to know, I haven't researched battery replacement recently. I just know from my version I had that it was almost impossible to find a replacement battery years ago. These are great devices, still amazed on the price. Dedicated thermal cameras can cost thousands.
