M18 Brushless 1/4" compact impact driver kit on sale for $99 ($70 off). This is a brushless tool but the non-fuel version. Matches best price for this kit. 291 in stock.

There have been some really good deals on the gen 3 fuel impact lately, but this is still a nice tool at this price point. I would still prefer the M18 fuel impact or even the M12 fuel impact over this tool. M12 fuel impact kit with 2ah CP battery goes on sale for $99 at times.

Includes: Brushless Impact Driver (2850-20), (1) M18 red-lithium 2.0Ah battery (48-11-1820), M18-M12 multi-voltage charger (48-59-1812) , tool bag

Seems like a pretty good deal.

What is the difference between Brushless and Fuel?

Fuel tool motor is much larger overall as is the tool compared to the non fuel brushless and/or it's brushed counterpart.

Also their FUEL version is Milwaukee top of line brushless intended to give longer run time and better output.

The "brushless" I believe are only available for the drill and impact driver. Basically they are a middle ground. They offer a brushless motor, but give the same torque ratings (power) as the regular brushed version. In my mind, I would either stick with the regular brushed options, or goto the fuel variations.

I have both brushed and fuel version of the same tools. The brushed versions are more than adequate for professional use, especially in the 18v platform. the fuel just gives you a little extra power and runtimes. If cost is a consideration, don't think that your giving up life changing options by NOT going with fuel versions.

However, the fuel is the top tier, and there is a difference - but all the brushed stuff I have is still great and does everything I need and ask them to. The brushless forms utilize a newer and more complex technology to drive the tools, which give some benefit like runtime, torque, and longevity under heavy use. Either versions will impress you.

The fuel tools use Milwaukee's best brushless motor design that give the highest torque and power output. The brushless ones still have a (different) brushless motor, but performance wise, you can expect the same as you would out of the brushed variety. You just gain the newer brushless technology, and the added benefits brushless designs provide, but no gain in power with those.

Gonna go out on a limb here and say I would not suggest the ryobi at $99 with the other options available.

The Milwaukee does have a 5 yr tool warranty over Ryobi (3 yr) and although you are getting 2 batteries, the Milwaukee single battery is a larger amp (2 vs 1.5) which can be significant in a tool like this. At the end of the day I'd buy whichever line you are/plan to commit to for the advantage of interchangeable batteries.

I've been using brushed version of Milwaukee impact and drill, they are still performing so well! I would go with Fuel level next upgrade!

Throw the Kobalt into the $99 mix also. -10% military and another 2% from that site = ~$87.

Brushless, 3 speeds, 2ah battery, 5 yr tool warranty, 3 year bat warranty.

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-24-Volt-Max-Variable-Speed-Brushless-Cordless-Impact-Driver-1-Batter... [lowes.com]

And Ryobi with 1800 inch lbs and battery for only $59.

Need a breaker bar to first loosen the lug nuts. Good for brakes and other things though...

Ah, here we go... LMAO

Great. Truck lug nuts tq'd at 150 lbs can be removed according to you. How about 125 ft lbs? Have you tried that? 100 with lug nuts that have not been removed for a few year? Or after a tire shop installs new tires and a few years later you get a flat and need to remove the tire.

No need to have a tire iron in the car then, right?

Exactly.. reading this thread tells me most people have no clue about power tools. They just like the pretty colors.. 80% of average home owners should just buy cheap corded harbor freight tools. A regular corded drill will work just fine for most things. Just need to spend time swapping bits.. people that buy this are builders.. if you plan to build a deck, tree house, shed, house extension, this is what you need... if you buy this only to use it for light duty or replacing the batteries in your kids toy, or the other extreme, using it for automotive work, you are a retard. Look up the difference between screwdriver, drill/driver, impact driver, impact wrench.. and even hammer drill and rotary hammer drills.. while some are interchangeable in some situations, its best to use the right tool for the job. This tool is designed for driving many long screws through thick pieces of wood at a fast pace

Buddy, I have know idea what you are trying to say. This tool is -not- an IMPACT WRENCH. Period.
