**Offer Ending on 2/26**
2/16/21:
deal as originally started appears to be dead. the Activation fee is no longer waived.
1/23/21:
appears the metro store starting to profile customer as the enter store
(as potential fraud and those that will be with metro only 1 month) :
as u signup, mention u r paying too much with your current carrier.
confirm on many occasions that the monthly recurring price is $100 tax included.
this will give them impression u will continue to be customer for more than 1 month.
1/20/21:
at some authorized dealers (AD)
A few users are reporting getting 4 x $100 deal.
no tax. no fees.
$100 cash, out the door, 4 phones, 2 n10 & 2 n100.
YMMV. Doesn't hurt to try.
regardless. if you are paying more than $100. or $120.
in total. make sure u find out why.
this is true for both corporate stores and authorized dealers.
get explanation of charges, before u pay.
1/19/21:
Only 2 lines qualify for free N10 as confirmed by Corporate Store.
The most popular deal is 2 of N10 + 2 of the n 100 for ~$120 ONLY.
meaning out the door by paying ~$120.
Best case scenario (provided by OP):
New users:
One person can get 2 free N10s (the newly released 5g phone) and 2 other free phones (more budget type phones) (N100, Samsung A21, LG Stylo 6, Revvl4+, etc) on $100 plan (4 lines with unlimited data). A complete list of phones can be found here [metrobyt-mobile.com]. The 2 N10s need to be port-in. The other 2 phones need to be new-line (Metro provides you new phone numbers). Different phones can be mixed in the 4 line plan. Example: 1 N10 free, 1 iphone SE for $99, 1 Samsung free, 1 LG free. Many stores enforce $120 plan instead of $100 plan for 4 lines. The $120 plan includes tethering. There should be no tax on phones , and no tax on plan & no activation fee. [there are 2 types of stores "corporate store" (CS) & "authorized dealer" (AD)...CS generally will not charge tax. AD will generally charge tax...best to try CS if u can...most common store is AD....CS are less common and can be a bit of a drive depending on where u live] [for a limited time the $20 AF is waived]
Note, 4 free phones for $100 out of door is the best case scenario, YMMV. Number of free phones allowed, phone plan, autopay requirement, status of port in numbers, activation fee, tax, etc. all YMMV depending on store and rep. Read more details below.
If the store near you is oos, check back later. The N10 was released on 1/15, not all stores have stock from day 1.

pro tips from desi babu
for most every metro deal:
1.
go to a corporate store [CS] (do not go to authorized dealers [AD]).
CS generally will not charge tax on free phones nor will they charge AF during this promo
[for a limited time]
AD will likely charge tax ..so avoid AD if possible.
to add: most AD may not have the popular phones in stock, like the N10.
it would make sense that Metro send most of the stock to its own CS
general consensus:
Most Metro employees (both CS & AD) will practice in less than ethical behavior.
CS will be less shady.
2.
go near closing time. they will try to help u asap so they can go home on time.
typically the rep is required to open phone, insert sim card make a call. this is normal.
if u really want a sealed phone, going closer to closing may increase your chances.
3.
know exactly what u r paying for before u leave store. some times they say insurance is required. this is generally a lie. refuse insurance. i like to pay with cash. if the cost is more than $120, i want to know why.
4.
get name of the person u r dealing with.
5.
metro phones are initially locked to metro for first 6 months.
(locked to metro means u can only use on metro.
not tmoblle, not sprint. not ting. not mint. metro. only metro.)
metro phones will generally auto unlock after 180 days.
this is TRUE even if u ONLY pay for one month.
here is from metro site
Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:
* The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
* The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
* One hundred eighty (180) days must have passed since the device's activation date.
no where is it list u need to be paying for 6 months.
historically:
people generally pay for the first month.
then simply leave the phone in a drawer for next 5 months.
[if needed, yes, u can use on wifi during the 5 months ]
known as " the drawer method"
and on day ~180,
start the phone.
there is an app on metro android phones called "unlock"
this will unlock phone.
this may change at any time
do not port out.
simply let number die.
this has greatest chance of success based on user feedback.
if u port out, the phone may unlock as well.
need more data points to say definitively.
6.
look to ebay for numbers to port. will cost ~$3-$10.
u will need to port in numbers that have not been on t mobile system in last 90 days.
(like att, verizon, cricket etc...some have reported boost/tello [from sprint side] even work)
[however, given all these porting deals from many carriers, it is entirely possible , that a number currently on att, or verizon etc, came from t mobile recently, in which case it will not qualify]
keep this in mind. if u buy a number from ebay that is on {for example} cricket, there is no 100% guarantee it will work
GOOGLE VOICE will not be eligible to port into Metro.
reminder:
to port a number , 3 (ONLY THREE NOT MORE) items are needed.
i)the phone number
ii)account number with the loosing carrier
iii)port pin.
alternate method to check if your number is eligible for port:
call CS in Dublin, CA: 925-551-7111
(wait 17 seconds. press option 3. a live person will answer)
ask them.
nothing special about Dublin.
in fact pick any other CS in California that lists number on metro website.
so the dublin store is not bombarded with same question.
and then comes looking for me (desi_babu)
other store #:
510-797-8290
408-369-2201
408-260-0748
650-298-0404
same process..(wait 17 seconds. press option 3. a live person will answer)
7.
id verification is now being required for some deals.
they will ask for your Driver license .
and enter into system. technically u r not allowed more than 4 free phones in 180 days.
many have tried. some have succeeded in getting more phones after 30 days.
so it is unclear on whether or not you will be accepted or rejected if you did a deal like this
in the past 180 days and gave them you DL.
u may also get lucky and they may not even ask for your id.
infact,
most speculate there really isnt any "database" where they can determine when u got the last deal
best advice: just try it. worse they can do is say no
For this specific deal:
1.
insist on the 4 lines for $100 deal.
but accept 4 lines for $120 deal.
alternatively u can get:
one n10 for $40 with port of 1 number.
two n10 for $80 with port of 2 numbers.
100 or 120 for 4 free phones of this quality are both GREAT deals.
frankly speaking, if u can get 4 phones for even 120, id say go for it.
dont chase the 4 x 100.
i would suggest u NOT do auto pay.
main reason i pay with cash
however others have suggested u can do auto pay and then simply cancel later .
if u do auto pay u have to give them a cc or debit card
i prefer not to give a cc . and deal only with cash.
tip from user googlephone:
you can tell them that you know the $120/4 lines promotion but that is a different promotion with hotspot and amazon prime membership and you want the $100/4 lines promotion. It will show that you are knowledgeable and they are less likely to lie to you anymore
and...
For those who were forced on the $120/4 lines with autopay on, they can not turn off autopay in their account if their account shows no saved payment method but autopay is on. They need to call customer service to turn off autopay. Some stores setup the autopay so that the user/owner can't even see the saved payment method for autopay. As a result, the users can't turn off autopay by themselves but their payment method is actually still in the system and autopay will continue if they don't cancel it. This is another trick played by those stores: forcing users to autopay without ability to turn off.
2.
u will need to port in 2 numbers that have not been on t mobile system in last 90 days.
(like att, verizon, cricket etc...some have reported ting/tello [from sprint side] even work)
[however, given all these porting deals from many carriers, it is entirely possible , that a number currently on att, or verizon etc, came from t mobile recently, in which case it will not qualify]
GOOGLE VOICE WILL NOT QUALIFY
keep this in mind. if u buy a number from ebay that is on {for example} cricket, there is no 100% guarantee it will work
when u port in 2 numbers u can get 2 free n10 (the 5 g phones).
then u can get 2 other phones with a number that metro will assign u.
but for those 2 lines u can NOT get 2 more 5g phones but rather the more budget phones like get n100 , A21, or Rev4+.
(the 2 stylus phones were free, but now will be ~$50)
max is 2 free n10 per account
3.
id verification is required. but some folks have got lucky and the rep simply asked for name. and did not check id.

Existing metro users:
It's possible to get free phone and put it on your current line. You need at least one number to port in for the free phone. If you have an extra phone currently not active on metro but compatible with metro, perform step 1 to 5, you can use new phone on your current line immediately. If you don't have an extra phone, go to step 6.
1. You are using phone #1 on metro. Your other idle phone is #2.
2. Get burner number, see below for how, e.g. boost or verizon number from ebay, Ting on verizon, not t-mobile.
3. Port in to get free phone(s), sign up for one month service. Regardless how many free phones you get, the phone you want to use is #3.
4. Chat with metro to swap imei between phone #2 and #3. Then the previously idle phone #2 is active. Phone #3 is idle. Now imei for phone #3 is released.
5. Chat with metro to swap phone #1 and #3. Then phone #3 is active on your own line. Phone #1 is released, becomes idle.
6. Wait for the new service to run out on new phone after 30 days. The imei will be released. Chat with metro to swap phone on your current line. It may take more than 30 days for the imei to be released.
If you have more than 1 lines, repeat above steps

Meh, not at all impressed with the phone. Just basic phone. Would probably good for a kids phone.
N10 5G

Specs seems good specially if you can get if for free, but camera is not that great, low light perforamce is pretty poor and even in cloudy days photos dont come out good at all. Face unlock and Fingerprint Unlock is really fast and good, but the screen does not get much bright overall, it not impress me much, I actually liked the Moto G Sylus Better.

About bootloader unlocking:
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=
FYI: metro by t-mobile version of N10 and N100 are not bootloader unlockable before sim unlocked. The bootloader unlock switch is greyed out unless the phone is sim unlocked.
Those who want to root this phone have to wait for sim unlock.

I ported 2 numbers.
Funny thing: my friend went to the same exact store and the store not only said $120 with auto pay is required and that my friend could only get 2 N10 and 2 samsung A21, not 2 N100. My friend left with empty hands.
These stores are like shit.
