I went to the same corporate store and got 2 N10 and 2 N100 for $100. The guy tried to lie to me that I need pay $120 and set up auto pay to get the $100/4 lines deal and I said that was not correct. The guy just said "ohh, you know everything and you are like a boss" and proceeded with $100 cash.
I ported 2 numbers.

Funny thing: my friend went to the same exact store and the store not only said $120 with auto pay is required and that my friend could only get 2 N10 and 2 samsung A21, not 2 N100. My friend left with empty hands.
These stores are like shit.

After checking their system, they told me I don't qualify this promotion. Yes, I saw the screen with red letters.

They checked two new ting verizon numbers for me and ask how long I have them, I said two months but actually less than one day from Ting.

I will call different store to let them check my numbers and my name.
You sure those number from ting is from Verizon network and not T-Mobile? You using v1 SIM and not x1 or x3 SIM?

I understand that putting a t-mobile sim to these metro phones doesn't work.

However, I could not get the metro sim to work in t-mobile phones either. Anyway to make this work. I paid for the service anyway, but didn't want to setup the metro phone just for a month.
You can do it online or chat with them online and ask them to do it for you, they may charge you $22 per swap

The rep was not totally unreasonable. If I am CEO of metro, I would make him MVrep. Stores do have the right to refuse service. The promotion is intended to bring in new customers.
This is a corporate promo. Store reps cannot make their own deals. If the CEO made these terms to retain valid customers it would be listed on the website as a term or condition to receiving service. This is a case of reps not wanting chargebacks and forcing customers to follow their rules so they are paid higher commission and less likely to face a chargeback. I did promos like this at a carrier all the time. As a rep you just have to deal with possibilities of people canceling service. It happens on any promo involving free phones.

These reps adding insurance and forcing higher rate plans can get in trouble for forcing customers to do things they are not required. In essence they are lying to the customer for their own personal gain.

Got the phones at a corporate store. I was never asked to set up a security password for the account but when I try to log in to my account online or on the phone I am asked to provide a 8 digit password (that I never set up in the store). Called Metro phone number and they cannot help and ask me to return to the store to reset the password. For some reason, the Metro web site tells me that I have a high security password (I was never asked about any of this at the store) which they can do nothing about. I tried some obvious possible passwords including a repeat of four digits of my soc sec number but that did not work. Anyone has a suggestion that will save me a trip to the store? I want to be able to monitor my account and see if/how my autopay is set up. Thanks.
Try calling customer service 1 (888) 863-8768

I had similar problem with Ting Verizon. Absolutely sure it was Verizon as the package contained 2 cards. They were somehow able to check the Ting line was just activated. Maybe that was a lucky buff. But anyways, I was finally able to get the deal using Boost numbers

I plan one porting the ting Verizon nbr that I activate today...
Please let me know how it goes.

Others here reported ting worked and hence was planning to do this.

They have no way to check how long you had the number, unless it was on Metro before.
Otherwise why bother asking you or demanding 3 months of phone bills.
In my case they actually called the previous carrier (stayed on the line even for 5 minutes) to verify with my first and last name and then refused since it was only 2 months old. You can refuse to give them the info and they will just refuse to deal with you as well.

I have the same issue. Not able to login saying that account has been designated as High Security.

So 3 months old Sprint line and 6 months old cricket line would be fine for this? Are they able to check activation dates on these carriers too?

No need to call them or chat, login to your account click on Device Upgrade enter the imei enter the sim iccid and you can swap it. Don't throw away any MetroPCS sim they can be reused. Moving from iphone to android might give an error sim card not compatible so you can use an old empty sim iccid to make the swap! Have done that multiple times. Also if you are planning on selling the phones you need to wait 14 days until the device return perioid is over and cancel the line or if you do it earlier than that you have to free up the imei by moving the number to a different phone. Else the person buying the phone won't be able to activate on their MetroPCS line.

I just switched from StraightTalk ATT to StraightTalk T-Mobile 2 days ago to test out the network. I assume this number is now no longer valid for this since it's been on a T-Mobile MNVO for a few days?

people should remember that the reason metro is asking for ID now was because of the iphone 6s deal LOL.
after awhile, they started to ask for the ID, calling porting # directly on customers' behavior to verify the porting #'s info, asked for at least 3 months phone bills/statements, or calling the porting # in the spots LOL.

so this isn't anything new with metro, either you join the game earlier when it's not that hot or play the game they are playing.

stop using boost/ting/mint/any tmobile/sprint related #s
just using anything from version and att are the safe bet now!!
even corporate stores will charge insurance, etc....
at this point, if the price is right, you should just take it lol
