Would make a great starter laptop - sure it's an old i7, but for $300 new with a 256GB SSD and 1080p display, you'd be hard pressed to find a better laptop for $300 new.

I have a couple EVOO laptops, including the one I'm typing this on that is my daily driver for work and personal and had held up great for a year, better than laptops 2x the price. My 4 year old also has a cheap one similar to this one in appearance but more in the netbook range and it has been reliable as well even for a 4 yr old.

I say that to show I don't have concerns about the brand, and I am sure the performance is more than adequate for a laptop in this price range, enough so that I would consider it for my wife except for one issue. Because the processor is old (came out 5 years ago), the chipset is old, and thus there is the chance that Microsoft drops support for it in a year or two and leave you with a laptop that can't get updates within 18 months after that. A lot of that depends on driver support as well and intel doesn't have a great track record of keeping drivers current on older hardware.

If you are fine with maybe only getting 3 years out of it, this is likely a great deal for a middle of the road budget laptop. I'm not sure if the memory and hard drive are upgradeable but have seen some reports they are so that would help.

That is actually for a model with a slightly newer 7th gen i7 but it's the same price and a better deal so I went ahead and picked it up for the wife, thanks for that lol!

I have the evoo gaming laptop with 1660ti had been using it daily for my work and pleasure and wow I am impressed with it. Light weight narrow bezel 144hz 99 adobe rgb 1080p screen, plenty of ports, 9th gen i7, 16gb ram, 500 gb ssd, rgb keyboard all for less than $800! Other than the poor battery life I don't think there are many laptops that can even compare. But with the 6th Gen i7 i will pass on this one, its like 5 generations behind but then again $300 is the right price point. What would be use case though? If you needed a slightly powerful machine for browsing and occasional serious work this would be perfect but so will be a $300 laptop with a 10/11th i5

Yes, the one on reddit is one generation newer i7. OP please link to the newer one. It's also $300.

If it is a hard $300 budget, get the second one linked. If you can spend a little more, Ryzen 5 (possibly even Ryzen 7) processor based laptops that will perform much better can be found for $400ish

I know, right? When I saw EVOO, I assumed it was a deal on olive oil.
