There are no good movies to watch in theaters, any good movies coming up?

Theaters must need good movies at this time to make people decide to go worth to go theaters

Yeah, not a whole lot. News of the World [rottentomatoes.com] was pretty good.

For upcoming movies, I'm interested in seeing Nobody [rottentomatoes.com], The Little Things [rottentomatoes.com], and Marvel's Black Widow [rottentomatoes.com].

'Ticket purchases must be made online to qualify.'
Does that include Fandango.com? It's online, and they don't specify cinemark.com...

And I agree, 'News of the World' is good.

Exactly. There has been a 2-3 week gap between Wonder Woman 84 (which was pretty weak plot wise... time travel would've been more realistic) and The Marksman at my theater. If you pay for a subscription/pass then you definitely won't get your money's worth in January so far. On the site Firstshowing there are loads of upcoming movies listed, but it seems like 95+% of them never make it to theaters or go straight to streaming. I used to use that site as my guide. Now I find that list worthless in predicting what movies will be at the theater.

Unfortunately if this trend of showing trailers for great upcoming movies but never delivering them continues, I'm afraid most/all of the theater chains will go out of business. Can they survive to the summer given it appears studios are only willing to release good movies during the summer (there were a handful around Thanksgiving/Christmas)? Theaters are already pretty empty as it is when there's a new release. That makes me wonder, given how many studios have set up their own streaming services, if studios WANT theaters to go out of business so people have to buy/stream movies directly from them. A similar statement could be made that some people in power WANT the dollar to crash by flooding the system by tons of "printed" money as long as they get their cut first. I thought that was ridiculous until I saw info supporting that. In these days, it's hard to know what to believe. So back on track, the theaters are under the thumbs of the studios and I don't think they have any leverage. Unfortunately posting deals about theater deals will go on deaf ears when there's not much to see at theaters.
