I picked up this deal last year (I did the rear handle, as I prefer blade-left and like the Skilsaw style).

This saw is incredible. I won't need another circular saw ever. I'm in the middle of framing up a room in our attic, and this thing has been great. The 4x batteries were well worth it.
I have the makita. My carpentry shop (new home and remodels) runs Milwaukee. Makita is not better than everything, but that rear handle saw is the tits. It's heavy but it makes ripping long boards a breeze. I used it last week ripping sopping wet and half froze pressure treated 16' 2x8's and it ate through them like butter

You can add saw kit and two 5.0 ah batteries into cart and get $249 finally, so hackable!

I just got this last week. Have heard great things about it. Also have the m18 rear handle but have heard the makita is better.

This was my first makita purchase so I'm keeping the batteries.

Which rear handle do you like better? The Milwaukee or makita?

When I go to add to cart, it's one item. The saw and the extra batteries. How do I get just the saw?

You can get the saw alone, but it's $200 without any charger or batteries

This deal's been posted a few times and I've been eyeballing it. Finally bit the bullet last night and tested it out today. First I see why these are still in stock at Home depot's as the outside of the box doesn't show that it includes a charger bag or two batteries. It just shows the saw and you have to read fine print on the back to see that it includes these extras. I actually even opened it at the store to make sure the batteries and twin charger were included. Actually don't need the extra set of batteries but decided to keep them because they're less than $10 an amp hour which is CHEAP!

I will say it is heavy at around 13 lb(with batteries) versus my old skilsaw that weighs in at around 10lbs. I got the rear handled version but may have been better off getting the top handle as the weight would be more controllable. feels very similar and probably a little bit lighter than the worm drive skill saws that I've held in the past. Though it is not a worm drive saw as the motor comes directly off the blade.

In the end you're essentially paying $50 for the saw and getting four 5 amp hour batteries for less than $10 an amp hour and you're getting a free dual charger that's probably worth 50 to 100 bucks by itself. Oh and a basic duffle bag.

Got this deal last time. Went with the big heavy rear handle so that I'd never want more saw than I have and I'm glad I did. Works great. I like that it's more of a righty saw too. Double charger and (4) 5 AH batteries makes my home cordless kit complete... for now... until the blower goes on sale... or the power head / pole saw... and I really wish a project would pop up where I'd need a big cordless rotary hammer...
