Bought for same price on black Friday, came from and old Braun 7. This thing works as talked about everywhere, but I still feel that, for my face hair, the Braun has more consistent shave. The Arc on the other hand seems to be very aggressive in some areas and much less so in others regardless of how much pressure adjustments I make.
Owned this razor for 3 years. First thing is shave after your shower. Also you don't need to smash it into your face, just skim your face surface, neck might need more pressure. Finally rinse hair out and rinse removable screen each time and leave off to dry out, it really helps the blades last. If you buy a replacement head get the one from japan that has gold roller bars. It's epic

Seems like everyone is going from the multi blade razors to wet shaving with a double edge. Surprised to hear you went the opposite direction
When I was younger I listened to the internet for everything and realized they're full of it at least half the time. I would only go the DE route as a newcomer if no other option worked, since like I said, it's very easy to cut yourself if you're not 100% paying attention or have perfect technique. You can mess up with a mach3 or an electric and not tear up your face. (I even used feather blades for awhile and that was horrific)

Ha same, I committed to DE shaving, bought multiple butterfly and 3 piece styles, feathers, silver blues, every kind of cream/product, bowls and brushes, stuck with it for years because that's the only acceptable solution on the internet. It was okay, has its advantages. You just get brow beaten for buying carts.

On a warehouse club sale, bought a bunch of mach3's, and re-realized their comfort & convenience. The only real advantage of DE, for me, is cost, precision at sideburns, and if your beard gets long DE works better than carts. Overall mach3 way better for me. I did keep the fancy shave butters and aftershaves though.

how long did it take for you to need replacement blades.
I don't mind spending $99 for this, but i dont think i want to spend $70 every year on blades
3-4 years at this point, and this thing still shaves better than anything else I've found.

For those that have asked about the replacement blades, they recommend it be done yearly. In my experience this is about right. I am always amazed how different the shaver feels with a brand new set of blades and a new foil. For those asking about warranties, I would not buy one. I have had several Panasonic razors over the years and never had any issues what so ever. The battery still holds a great charge after years of use, the display is fully functional. They are very well made.

Notice this is a long topic from a while back. But even if this is on sale, is it worth it though since you need to buy these expensive replacement blades every year?

I bought a norelco eletric razor not long ago for 60 dollars that has went bad. But when i replaced the replacement blades it cost around 25 dollars. Seems a bit ridiculous when replacement blades for these yearly are like 85 dollars plus?

Also assuming you don't have much facial hair such as only moustache and hair in your chin area and do not have beard, are these even necessary?
