Just applied the promo code to a Premier return and it brought the price down to $0. Only seems to work for online returns, not downloaded from what I can find.
I finally got the code (2 days?!?!?). As I thought, the code isn't a flat $100 but depends on the product. It's also for the web version only.
Free = $0 (!)
Deluxe = $40 rather than $60 (state additional)
Premier = $70 rather than $90 (state additional)
Self-Employed = $90 rather than $120 (state additional)
I wouldn't doubt if the other savings (to make up $100) was buried in one of their other products, like the professional reviews or whatever.
Code does appear to be unique.... a jumble of letters/numbers.
I'm not ready to file by a long shot, so don't wait on me for an update, but methinks that you can get better deals elsewhere.
Just called Intuit ((800) 624-9066) and talked to a very nice rep who was able to offer the download version (Premier with state) instead of the online version. YMMV a lot.

Why do you use the download vs the online version?

Was this something the rep had to do for you? There was no way to do it on your own?
TurboTax Free File has a lower AGI limit of $39,000 but has most features/forms and free state filing (for most people).
TurboTax is also free for enlisted and reserve military personnel. No income restrictions. Applies to Basic, Deluxe, Premier and Self-Employed products. Excludes Officers and TurboTax Live/Download.
