Apple iPhone XS models (including large capacities and Max variants) are all $199 in-store at Walmart as of this weekend. Definitely a YMMV since these are not showing up in online inventories.

NOTE: Brickseek is showing "NO RESULTS" and Walmart.com is saying "Out of stock" for all SKUs (I checked them all). However, all 4 of the stores I checked in-person did have inventory. This seems very unusual, but I purchased a 256GB XS Max for $199 this afternoon at a store in my area so there are some models out there.

Walmart listing (shows no inventory; see note above) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Apple-.../109707311

No contract/commitment required, but I believe these are only setup to work only with AT&T. I have AT&T so I haven't explored this further.

Clarification: No AT&T account info was needed to checkout. I just asked for the phone at the electronics counter, paid the total, and walked out. I charged the phone, swapped the SIM from my existing phone, and was up and running.

I reserved at two stores, got confirmation emails for both and went. Neither actually had the XS or XS Max in stock, the first one the electronics counter employee said the wireless employees all got transferred to Mountain View a while back, and they haven't sold contract mobiles in months. The second store simply had none - the employees were very nice and showed me all their stock areas, and there were no iPhones at all. They said they had them for Black Friday but that was it. The manager/lead even came and called their wireless account employees to ask and they said they haven't had iPhones in stock for over two months.

YMMV
Which store? I have two reservations (XS Max) in Bay Area.

Pretty much that. The step by step is go to warp, post paid, then they do something on the computer, print out the warp order, it asks for a zip code (just give them one, it doesn't pull up account info), then there is a bar code that you get from the printout that they scan to ring you up. Or they could scan the barcode on the back of the box. Then you should be all set. Good luck!

Don't scan the barcode from the box on the cash register because it will come up as cannot be sold, which is why you need the barcode generated from the WARP.

Try the following and choose non-AT&T customer. YMMV.
Code:

Where is the WARP and what does it look like?

It is a PC terminal, basically a monitor with a keyboard, located at the electronic dept, same location as the cash register at the electronic dept; unless your store has a separate wireless dept or store like in some supercenters, then it is located at the wireless store at the front of the store near the bank, Subway, nail salon, etc. Look for salaried blue-shirt employees such as store manager or electronic manager, who may be much more knowledgeable and helpful, for help if needed. Good luck. hug
