Apple iPhone XS models (including large capacities and Max variants) are all $199 in-store at Walmart as of this weekend. Definitely a YMMV since these are not showing up in online inventories.

NOTE: Brickseek is showing "NO RESULTS" and Walmart.com is saying "Out of stock" for all SKUs (I checked them all). However, all 4 of the stores I checked in-person did have inventory. This seems very unusual, but I purchased a 256GB XS Max for $199 this afternoon at a store in my area so there are some models out there.

Walmart listing (shows no inventory; see note above) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Apple-.../109707311

No contract/commitment required, but I believe these are only setup to work only with AT&T. I have AT&T so I haven't explored this further.

Clarification: No AT&T account info was needed to checkout. I just asked for the phone at the electronics counter, paid the total, and walked out. I charged the phone, swapped the SIM from my existing phone, and was up and running.

No, I'm waiting on confirmation from someone else who have already done it.
Lemme know if you get to know anything about that! Thanks in advance

I was able to get 2 XS max and 1 XS but, I'm unsure which carrier the store used to process the transaction. I just told them that I wanted to fully paid for all the phones and they were able to do it through warp but, they did not ask me which carrier I had. Is there a way to find out if the phones are locked or not? I checked on this site https://imeicheck.com/simlock-iphone and it states that the 2 XS max are unlocked but the XS is locked. Is this website accurate? Does anyone have any experience with them that they could share? Is there a way to find out the carrier without having to go back to Walmart? I tried ATT online portal but it states "Your IMEI number & device don't match" as others have received.

Is it possible that even though a location says there are none available for reservation on the website that they still have inventory?

I chose ATT for the reservation but was not asked about carrier at the store. Model number was MT5A2LL/A.

I got one XS 64GB and one XS Max 64GB. Thank you OP and everybody who contributed! I can confirm that the employees did not have any knowledge about the reservations. But eventually one of them recommended checking if they have the phones in stock. They came with the exact 2 models I reserved - one was in an open box but appears new, the other still in a plastic wrap. No issue with check out - I mentioned WARP a few times and I don't know if they did it or not. They needed a manager to come and punch a code for approval for each device, and that's all. Pretty easy.
BTW, some of the best killer deals I got were through thread that were heavily downvoted. I don't understand it - it seems that some snowflakes downvote any deal that doesn't work for them. Too bad.

Just an update. I got an XS max AT&T version. You do not need to boot or insert a sim card in to unlock the phone. I just used the AT&T unlock portal, punched in the imei and waited like 5 min before they sent me an email to confirm, and an email to put in my Tmobile sim to finish the unlock process. Super simple.

I went into a store last weekend to check on a laptop. I asked the girl if she could look up an item by SKU and she said they don't look up an item by SKU. Seriously, some walmart employees make you wanna punch them in the face.
Some customers do too. They don't look up items using sku. They use the upc.

Nope. Another employee used the sku I gave her and looked it up. Try again.

Nope, the (sku) that you are referencing is actually the internet id number. You're calling it the sku because Brickseek calls it the sku, not Walmart. In-store they only look up items using the upc number. Check mate... LMAO

All walmart employees have phones that they carry all the time that have the app to check in store inventory. Go in and try for yourself. Give them then SKU and they will look it up. I've done this a 100 times meanwhile you're speaking of something you are completely clueless about. So seems like you just PWNED yourself.

Yeah, they don't know what the sku is for me. They always have used the UPC personally. So I don't know.
