Apple iPhone XS models (including large capacities and Max variants) are all $199 in-store at Walmart as of this weekend. Definitely a YMMV since these are not showing up in online inventories.

NOTE: Brickseek is showing "NO RESULTS" and Walmart.com is saying "Out of stock" for all SKUs (I checked them all). However, all 4 of the stores I checked in-person did have inventory. This seems very unusual, but I purchased a 256GB XS Max for $199 this afternoon at a store in my area so there are some models out there.

Walmart listing (shows no inventory; see note above) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Apple-.../109707311

No contract/commitment required, but I believe these are only setup to work only with AT&T. I have AT&T so I haven't explored this further.

Clarification: No AT&T account info was needed to checkout. I just asked for the phone at the electronics counter, paid the total, and walked out. I charged the phone, swapped the SIM from my existing phone, and was up and running.

Those who got XS Max unlocked, can you please share if it was 64GB or 256GB. Looking to buy 265GB and not sure if it comes unlocked!

From my experience and as most people have mentioned the xs max is unlocked. Others have mentioned the smaller XS does have reseller flex. I reserved xs max as ATT as that was what was available online but when I got to the store they did not even acknowledge the reservation and the phone they had was not labelled nor did they ask me. I was unsure until I got home and opened it and activated it. Fully unlocked out of the box...
Was it 64GB or 256GB?

The tears of someone who missed the deal. I'm sure he would have only bought one if he managed to find them in his store.
I'm sure he would have only bought one. That was kinda the point of his comment.

Hmm, XS Max 64GB with 'US Reseller Flex Policy'. Was expecting to do AT&T unlock since that was painless last time I did it but wasn't thinking about that having been 5 years ago and the SIM being the entirely wrong size. Guess I need to figure out where to get an AT&T sim then, eBay? Definitely don't want to put the Red Pocket one in or get it accidentally stuck to something.

No wireless guy in that store. They don't want to check just say no iphone XS or XS MAX. But I can reserve in walmart in-store pick up website.

This is pretty much how 99% of these visits go. Not sure which clowns are upvoting this fake deal but it has to stop. Literally deals like this kill slickdeals reputation, it will end up like fatwallet!
I scored one but did have to talk to three people. I also scored a Pixel as well. This deal is legit.

Same question as you! I've gone to 7 different Walmart's with absolutely no luck Frown
Yeah that's why I gave up on Walmart YMMV deals a while back. Probably like 2/15 of deals for Walmart that I went to the store for worked out. Happy for those whom it worked out for though. I just live in a very densely populated area, so even if the few Walmart's in my area had the deal, I'm too slow to find them.

You absolutely DO NOT have to sign up for a plan.
The manager DID NOT lock out the device only option.
There is NO LIMIT on quantity that is officially set and the system does not limit, other than two WARP phones per transaction. You can purchase those 2x barcodes from WARP all on one checkout transaction at the actual register if you want.
Some employees can and will do the WARP process, many stores are removing the third party companies.

My experience
Store 1: 2x XS Max 64GB open box, but new and plastic on phones, unactivated. OSL employee processed with WARP as new customer, Verizon, Device only

Store 2: 3x new XS Max 64GB, sealed. Electronics employee processed reservation via WARP same as above.
Store 3: 4x new XS Max 64GB + 2x XS 256GB, sealed. Electronics employee same as above.

*Store 2 had trouble around lunch time because their terminal was hanging and flickering. They took my info, said the phones were set back not for sale and they would call me when the system was back online. They actually called me while I was at store 3 a few hours later to let me know I could come purchase, which I did.

As you can see, there are no official limits per customer in the system and I purchased no plans or lines. Yes, I have 11 phones, but I did quite a bit of legwork to figure it all out along with help from this thread. Some will be used to subsidize the rest, but family will be getting upgrades as well.

I lucked into some really good and willing to try/helpful employees at two of the stores, which is definitely a rarity. I was calm, friendly and confident that I knew what the process was.
My 2 I had to get service and 4 other stores said the same thing. What do you do, tell them they HAVE to sell them to you to get this to work? And the 2 were not sealed I thought Apple devices had to be sealed to sell. At least that was the case when I worked for a wireless carrier. I don't know if I'll return the 2 or not

Awesome deal! I was able to get 3 XS Max and 1 XS while leaving plenty for others. My family is going to be excited to upgrade their old 7's. The cashier knew exactly how to ring these up with WARP and process them as phone only- through Verizon (IMEI says unlocked online) did not have to activate.

My experience today:

Bought (5) XS Max 64gb at $199 and (1) X 256gb at $99 all from the same store. Didn't activate to or sign up for any carrier but told them AT&T because they said they had to put something in for the carrier.

I have Mint Mobile. From what I'm gathering, if I put in a Mint SIM card I'm now locked to mint? Or do I have to insert an AT&T SIM and then go through the unlock process first? Or am I in the clear to sell off the extras that family members don't claim as "unlocked?"

Messaged you! Congratulations on your success, I wish I had the same luck ☹️

Can I just "buy it in full" while signing up for Verizon or att, but ask them not to put the sim card in the phone so it remains unlocked and I can use it on tmobile instead??? Has anyone tried? Sounds like I have to go through the "mobile" people at the department
