Apple iPhone XS models (including large capacities and Max variants) are all $199 in-store at Walmart as of this weekend. Definitely a YMMV since these are not showing up in online inventories.

NOTE: Brickseek is showing "NO RESULTS" and Walmart.com is saying "Out of stock" for all SKUs (I checked them all). However, all 4 of the stores I checked in-person did have inventory. This seems very unusual, but I purchased a 256GB XS Max for $199 this afternoon at a store in my area so there are some models out there.

Walmart listing (shows no inventory; see note above) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Apple-.../109707311

No contract/commitment required, but I believe these are only setup to work only with AT&T. I have AT&T so I haven't explored this further.

Clarification: No AT&T account info was needed to checkout. I just asked for the phone at the electronics counter, paid the total, and walked out. I charged the phone, swapped the SIM from my existing phone, and was up and running.

How do you look for them? Online on find a store I can't find one in a 100 mile radius
Didn't say it would be easy.

Same as with the sprint phone deal. 🤦🏽 These are unlocked postpaid phones and must be sold through warp and locked to carrier before being sold. Walmart is not allowed to sell them any other way. These phones sit in two different inventory systems and are actually cheaper if you put them on a plan as a upgrade. They drop to $49.00 for the XS and $149 for the XS Max. What I will say is this... my coworkers can and have gotten fired for selling them outright because we are not allowed to do that. If a Walmart associate does it that's fine but a lot of them won't touch those phones if there is a wireless associate working there. This is a serious YMMV. And ordering online for a reservation and picking them up doesn't work because they still have to go through the warp system to be sold.

Is the reservation link marginally accurate (not # of units, but at least yes or no in terms of in stock)? I did not see anything available in my NoVA stores (from Tysons to Sterling), and I was in the Dulles Landing store yesterday. Person at the electronic store opened up every single locked drawer and told me no, although she seemingly pulled out one iphone (could not see the variant) and worked on the scanner a bit. I specifically asked for XS or XS max, nada.

Don't bother looking for those S9's they were recalled along with the S8's because the screens were separating insides the box.

Guess I got lucky, one was in stock at my Walmart here in Southern MN 64 GB XS Max in Gold asked the employee if I could buy without activating a line or anything and he just simply said sure. He needed a carrier name at least so I told him Verizon and I was out the door at $210 after taxes.

I've had an OSL employee and Walmart associates both sell them to me outright. They apparently need to fix the system if it's supposedly not allowed. Scratchhead

Oh it's accurate but we are still going to say no because the wireless associate has been told not to do them and the Walmart associates aren't trained to operate the warp system

Mine have gotten them all from the lockup in the back of the store (3 of 3 stores). The only ones showing in reservation system as available have been 64GB silver for XS and XS Max, even if stores have other variants available for sale. Might vary depending on region and store layout.

Oh they are going to lose their job because they aren't supposed to sell them outright. If I could show you the things our bosses say about selling them outright you would understand. It may not get the Walmart associate in that much trouble but the wireless associate is out the door because we are contracted by Walmart to sell their postpaid phones and we were told that was a no no on day one.

The 64 silver was all that was allowed to be ordered for a long time. The bigger sizes and colors were sold when they dropped to $499 in most stores. If you find something different it's going to be old inventory

The OSL district manager that responded to my email (called within the hour) to the main OSL info email account knew exactly what I was asking for and had the rep meet me at the store later that day. No idea why she wouldn't know about it either...

And he locked it to Verizon for 60 days as soon as you choose the carrier because Verizon soft locks their phones now for 2 months

Even if you buy the device in full with a plan?
