Everything VB I have ever bought has lasted me for years, even with heavy use. The only wear I've ever experienced has been that after a LOT of use, cotton items can fade a bit or show some wear on the fabric. Like if you set a cotton bag down on a rough surface a lot, it will eventually damage the bottom and the strap where it rubs your shoulder will wear after awhile. That's pretty much it. I've had stuff for probably 10+ years that still looks like the day I bought it. It's one of the few companies I'm willing to spend a little more at because I know what I get will really last.
However, I now learn to avoid buying stuffs that have metal as they will rust over time. I have a VB crossbody that I love but have a metal turnlock. It rusts over time
