Don't forget the $100 referral
Few days ago , same card had "5% cash back on grocery store purchases (not including Target or Walmart purchases) on up to $12,000 spent in your first year of account opening"
I have two Freedoms and a Freedom Unlimited. Can I get this card and the signup bonus?

  1. Jan 3 - Applied for my parents on 1/3.
  2. Jan 11 - Received postal mail with code to verify application.
  3. Jan 20 - Received credit card.
In the Feb 26 statement, they got the 20,000 bonus points as well as 1,899 for the 5% warehouse and grocery cashback; and I got that 10,000 referral bonus. All smooth operation except for the slightly longer though secure application process. It's absolutely worth it.

The original Chase Freedom doesn't exist anymore. As long as your Chase Freedom card has a Mastercard logo on it, you have the Freedom Flex.
I have a Freedom Visa, so yes, it still exists. Maybe they're not issuing new ones?

I meant you can't sign up for it anymore. It's either freedom unlimited or freedom flex.

You're right, and both of them are Mastercard. Can't use them in Costco - that's one thing sucks about it. I'll make sure I hold on to my Freedom Visa which I opened since 2002.

Thanks for the correction. The new Flex was a M/C so I assumed wrong about Unlimited.

Is there a way to know what credit limit you will be given when you are approved for this card? If I have a project that I want to finance with this card, how can I tell if it will cover it?

F chase.

Applied for a CFU on Jan 8th. Chase decided not to give me the 5% grocery bonus that was plastered all over my account that day.
Rep on phone when I applied said yes it was an active offer and would be applied automatically.
Fast forward 5% not populating on grocery purchases....

Absolute douche bags running that company.... Misleading advertising, customer service reps who lie and tell you they see things on your account that aren't there or are removed later.

Every person I talk to takes zero responsibility for this crap.
Did you activate the 5%? It's not automatic if you don't activate it.

You are thinking of the freedom? Not freedom unlimited/CFU

Doesn't matter which card. You have to manually activate it on the website.

One workaround for Costco: Buy Costco cash card online and use it in store. Online accepts MasterCard

Yes. Each card is different. I have the Fredom & Unlimited. Saw the 5% groceries for a year expiring soon so I pulled the trigger and got it. It shows you exactly how much you've spent to get the bonus.
So they let you have all 3 cards at the same time, or did you have to swap the Freedom, which they've discontinued for new accounts, to the Flex? I have both and need to buy over $500 of car parts so the $200 would be easy for me to earn right away.

Of course the $1400 stim check is even nicer!
