Few days ago , same card had "5% cash back on grocery store purchases (not including Target or Walmart purchases) on up to $12,000 spent in your first year of account opening"
I have two Freedoms and a Freedom Unlimited. Can I get this card and the signup bonus?

I think my point has been lost on you. I'm just trying to give you a heads up. You're at 4 chase cards now. You have one left if you've had them for less than 24mo.
The point is, choose your next chase card wisely, because you may have to wait if you want another card.
Example: you still want a Chase Sapphire, Chase World of Hyatt, and Chase Freedom Unlimited card. You can only get approved for one more. Now you know to choose the one you really want. You may be near a limit you might not know exists.
The other 4 Chase CCs we're obtained more than 2 years ago. I've gotten a few CC but from different banks within 2 years.
My understanding is only the person referring person gets the $100, I refer back and forth with friends and family. We split it 50/50 regardless of who does the referring. I kick myself when I forget
MY brother has the freedom unlimited and i also have the normal freedom unlimited. Can he somehow refer me to the freedom flex and get the referral credit? or does he need to have freedom flex first before he can get a referral link for it?

What do you mean by the first $1500 you spend mean?
When the total you've spent across all 5% categories for that quarter reaches $1500, you stop getting 5x on any additional spend in any category.

Should the people choose the first, second, third 5% cash back category?
There's no choice involved. Across whatever categories are for the quarter, once you've spent $1500 total on any of them, you're done with 5x and drop back to 1x.

Do you mean one earns 5% cash back until $1500 spending reached regardless what category s/he spends?

Spending in categories not among the 5% ones for the quarter are irrelevant.
What do you mean by spending the categories? Do you mean to select the category first and the first $1500 purchase in the selected category will earn 5% cash back?

Then you're all good! When you said you were going for your fourth chase card, I thought you might be churning or opening a bunch of cards.
I'm easing off on applying CC

Definitely
You only get the 5x on the first $1500 you spend in the quarter, across all categories for which you get the 5x that quarter.
If the categories are groceries and gas, and you spend $1000 on groceries and $1000 on gas, you only get 5x on the first $1500 you spent.
