For those unaware, this uses an app to wirelessly measure speed and count laps with "Hot Wheels ID" cars, 2 of which come with this portal.

I'm not sure how easy to use the app is or anything, but seems like a cool idea for those really into hot wheels.

I got this for around $18 leading up to Christmas. My kids enjoy it. Be aware that there are parts of the app that require the full ID track and other parts that require the Power Boost box (which now seems to be sold out in most stores). The additional ID cars are also pretty spendy.

If nothing else, the cars in this collection if you can get them are great. We have all the batmobiles mystery machine, and Back to the Future Delorean and he just bought another new no-name car from Walmart. With some random track parts he built something but we only have the portal that I paid less for before Thanksgiving but honestly, some people were selling it for a lot more during and after then and if your kid or you like the app idea, it is great.

We've had this for a year, and used regular orange track pieces until Christmas when we got the booster track. It's pretty awesome even without the booster. Scanning the cars are better than buying them in game - you get the cars fully maxed. The cars themselves are great - high quality with really nice paint jobs.
