They would be my hero if they came out with an Acrobat-like program. Imagine paying $50 for an Acrobat Pro-like app instead of the highway robbery prices Adobe charges!
Finally somebody took advantage of Adobe's greed.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but was on the fence with publisher but the fact of owning all 3 enables the "studio link" which provides the tools of the others in publisher may be really convenient. Will be getting all three. Thanks for post!
I grabbed all 3 yesterday. I have only played with photo so far and did some light retouch on a photo. This is definitely as good as full photoshop for most things.
Awesome, was looking at this yesterday comparing to the Adobe Elements deal posted.

That's literally what made me post it. I stumbled on it on Engadget and, while I don't need it, figured somebody might.
I posted the Elements deal yesterday and am really glad this happened - this is DEFINITELY the better deal (Photoshop level features vs. Photoshop Lite)
If you were looking at Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, how does this stack up as to features. Paint Shop Pro has also done a lot of product upgrades. Is this better than Paint Shop Pro, as an example, and why?
Can you use a scanner with this software? Any good photo flatbed scanner recommendations?

You can not use a scanner directly in the Affinity software. You would have to scan to a compatible file and then open it in Affinity Photo. That might be in their long term roadmap, but not in v1 of the product.
I used Paint Shop Pro back in 2015 and I think Affinity Photo has a slightly more Photoshop feel to the interface. Personally I don't think Paint Shop Pro is twice-the-price better.
I need to know this as well if someone could let us know please!

are any of these replacement to Lightroom? I don't want to pay adobe subscription.
None of these programs can replace Lightroom.
In past discussions on SD, people have mentioned they like Luminar as an alternative to Lightroom. I've used Luminar 3 a little bit and grabbed it when it was free but I haven't used it enough to see how well it stacks up against Lightroom.

Early on it seemed like they were releasing updates all the dang time, but recently it is more like 2-3 times a year. I guess as the low hanging fruit gets developed the more complex features take longer to build and/or fix.

No, Photo does have some raw photo editing, but it's a single photo at a time, not batch editing or organizing.
