Testing standards for KN95 is actually slightly more rigorous than the N95 designation (as shown here by 3M's comparison [3m.com]). It is a standard, but that doesn't mean people aren't producing fakes for easy money during a pandemic, just like fake N95s or the masks people buy from Etsy. Powecom KN95 masks have been tested 17 times by the CDC since April 2020 (https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/r...sults.html) and have exceeded the N95 designation standard of 95%+ filtration every time except for once in May in which they tested at 93-94%.

These masks are very good but personally it's not much more for the two strap version which gives a more secure fit. I bought mine from bonafidemasks.com.

I received my two packages from Office Depot today. I went to the Powecom website and followed their instructions for verifying the masks. Both packages have the anti-fake sticker. I scratched the coating to reveal the validation code. And both codes check out as valid. So, it appears the two packages I got from Office Depot are not fake. But as a side note the photos you uploaded look just like my masks and packaging.

N95 Respirators Not for Use by the General Public
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does not recommend that the general public wear N95 respirators to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including coronavirus (COVID-19). Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for health care workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance.
Wow! A genuine Covidoligist! He's been so busy he hasn't read the news since March.

If you actually worked in a hospital you would know that they can provide N95 to anyone who needs one now, and they just aren't buying them for most of the staff. Even if you wanted to wear these KN95's, they won't let staff wear outside provided masks (my sister tried to wear this exact mask at work, and got written up). So anyone buying these isn't affecting any US healthcare workers, pretend or otherwise. They'll all have the 2nd dose of vaccine soon anyway, so what's the diff?

Also, a respirator like this one is definitely needed by those of us unvaccinated, because we can't depend on the people around us to even wear a face covering correctly.

yeah i got that pack as well. they're definitely NOT very comfortable either. I can see why they make a variation of these with exhaust valves (although, then you should wear a fabric cover over this)

Just so everyone knows these are not N95, the certification requires over the head straps. [i]"Legitimate N95s are designed with full head-straps that are stitched, stapled or soldered directly to the respirator to provide the proper seal and force inhaled and exhaled air through the filter. The cheaper earloops, which are glued to the mask and create a more unstable seal, made the masks significantly less effective. In many cases, frontline healthcare workers were forced to simply make do."

I am an MD and I've seen THOUSANDS of Covid patients. And the issue is all of you are inflating prices so it's harder for medical facilities to make them readily available for healthcare workers! If people would understand that masks are to limit the spread from YOU not to filter the air around you. The CDC does NOT recommend them as first line for the general population. But the general population snaps these up which keeps the price higher than if demand for these dropped. Stick to your surgical masks and wash your hands so those of us in aersolized environments can use more readily!! Thank you! And appreciate all the negative reps because I raise a viewpoint that you can't identify with
Man the greed and selfishness lately is really repulsive. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting that Powecom's website says Office Depot is "Not-Authorized reseller, may selling fake KN95 masks":

I've been wearing these masks 5 days a week, 10 hours a day for the last 6 months working construction. I wear a new one every day. I use a small clip on the earloops and have a reasonably large head, the result is a very tight seal and excellent filtration. These masks have been great for me, only have had a couple this whole time that had the earloops break. I'm going to be ordering 100 more soon.

My wife has the same issue with the ear loops ones. Smaller head I guess. Try the ones that strap around the back of your head for a more secure fit.
I've been wearing these since last summer. I have ear savers and with those you can reuse them many times while still keeping a tight fit that doesn't bother your ears. =initial

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank monkeybiz

for the critics, do me a favor and search KN95 on SD and you'll see plenty of positive feedback. We have already hashed it out ad nauseum from all the "experts" I've got them from OD and they are legit.

Agreed if people don't believe in masks then why do air conditioning in cars and water dispensers i. Refrigerators have a filter and I am not including politics in this lol 😂
I have a theory that these people are probably all open mouth coughers.

Its like they disagree or hate the government so much that they are putting up a hissy fit that they don't even want to put on a mask (filter) even though engines, water dispensers and air conditioners have filters lol.

I went to a grocery store today and a couple didn't have masks on. I avoided them while walking the aisles. Then I saw them again after checkout. They were pushing their caught laughing on their way out... These are the types of people that will end up keeping the pandemic going or end up spreading it to their parents and people around them.

With all due respect, you need to update your information database, yours is several months old.

Also, if these masks were to limit the spread from the wearer, then why are all frontline medical personnel supposed to wear them ?? Are they all considered infected ??
