Not a deal on the price however they have been out of stock quite often. This is the normal price no matter what Amazon tries to tell you

Most "prepper" items are lately. Its like finding ammo.

it is true it isn't in stock much but ccc also shows this as the lowest price in a few years. it has been this price a fair amount, but if it isn't this price, its higher.

The shelf life is the seller. Otherwise just get powdered mashed potatoes

Well yes and no.

This is clearly "emergency" food which is designed to last for decades in storage. Keep in mind though that typically the shelf life listed is when the product is unopened - once you open it, that shelf life is cut short dramatically.

But, to your point, this is not "mashed" potato as you'd get with powdered - these are more like shreds, think restaurant style hash browns. That's not something you're going to replicate with powdered potato.

You are better off for regular use buying those milk carton types of Idaho spuds for $1-2 bucks.
Costco usually has them 8 for $9 or $10.
Each one has 6 servings after rehydration and keep for 2 yrs unopened.

All the freeze dried food is too expensive now. A time of food insecurity is a time to buy bulk to get the most food for your money. Buy this stuff cheap during the good times and it'll be there in 20 years when yellowstone erupts.
