My local Audi dealer in Texas just emailed me about 2020 A3's now at $9,000 off MSRP to $26,815 and 2020 S3's now at $10,000 off MSRP to $39,110.

Just passing this along. Happy hunting/negotiating!

Hi,
Do you mind sharing dealership info? If you cannot share it on thread, please PM the details. I'm in DFW metroplex and looking for options.

Thanks in advance.

Why the German cars are bad compared to Japanese?

If I was to guess, I would say bang for the buck, Asian & American cars give you more for your dollar and are cheaper to repair than European cars.

Generally speaking Japanese cars are slightly more reliable than European or American cars, but not by a lot (Japanese cars were much more reliable than the others from 1950s to 1990s , then the others started catching up)

As a minor generalization having worked on many vehicles, foreign and domestic: Japanese cars cost less for parts and are not as proprietary in regards to tooling.

That said, that's a great deal on the A3.

2020 is the last model year for this generation of the A3, the next generation will be available at the end of 2021 as a 2022 model.

Huge markdowns are pretty typical on the last of a generation on any maker.

The Audi A3/S3 uses the VAG EA888 family of engine. Thermostat housing is known to go bad as early as 30k and by the time you hit 60k you most definitely need the thermostat housing replace which cost roughly 1300 for parts and labor. The replacement will last roughly about the same since VAG never fix the flaw on the thermostat housing. Despite the flaw overall it's not a bad car

I owned an Audi and took it in weekly for repairs. Would never own another.
