I recommend this over the 3/8, because then you're good with just the one impact socket set if you get the 1/2 mid or high torque. Wish I had done that. And def get the friction ring.

I agree. And for those instances where you're using an adaptor on smaller sockets, that would serve well given that you would want less torque on anything below 10mm anyways.

Allows you to change sockets faster and easier compared to a pin detent. They are in reference to the anvil of the impact gun. Pin detent is mainly for construction folks or anyone working in higher places where you wouldn't want to accidentally drop a heavy socket. If you're planning to get an impact wrench for auto, I always recommend friction ring, or also known as "hog ring".

Also, the friction ring holds things in place pretty well, I mean you really have to pull out to remove it. I don't know of any good sockets that just fall out. I guess if you're working on a sky scraper or over water, I'd get pin detént. But I hear taking them off sucks.

From what I can tell the one on Amazon is a refurb and doesn't come with the battery.

That doesn't include a free 2.0 battery, and description below on amazon says refurbished for some reason. Nonetheless, selling the 2.0 or keeping it is a better value than getting it from the Amazon link
