I've always wanted a reciprocating saw but couldn't think of a way I would use it being just a homeowner doing small home improvements and hobby stuff in the garage. At this price and compact size, I might just do it.

They are very useful for cutting nails or any sort of demo work, another popular homeowner use is to put a coarse wood blade on it to use as a single handed pruning saw.
Then you have your more general uses, like cutting metal or pvc pipes, a giant jigsaw (not as useful), and framing guides.

That's how mine gets the most use. When I have a small branch and don't want to bring out the chainsaw.
I can't comment on this atomic version though. I have the regular reciprocating saw.

Just fyi, the stroke length on this saw is only 5/8th (0.625") of an inch versus 1 & 1/8th of an inch (1.125") on Dewalt's "traditional/full size" recip saws. Depending on what you are using it for, it might be exactly the right tool. But if you're looking for an general-use recip saw, the longer stroke length will keep you happier.
$99 at Home Depot, so not a huge deal but still cheaper than anywhere else other than eBay. eBay is a good place to look at "tool only" items that people might have gotten in a bundle.
I have this one and the corded version. I love this tool as I can easily cut through PVC and copper pipes in tight places that the corded one just would be a pain.

I solely use mine for cutting apart 14 ft tall christmas trees my wife likes. Getting them in the house bailed is easy, getting them out it about 4 pieces.

I use mine for various projects. Anything from cutting fence pickets to quick pruning jobs on trees and bushes. They're nice to have around when you need one.
Didn't buy this one but did buy the DCS367B as they had it cheaper then anyone else out there. Rather have the full stroke length and the made in the USA tools just seem better built to me. Thanks Op.
