Amazon [amazon.com],iTunes [apple.com], and Google Play [google.com] each have Zero Hour! available for purchase for $4.99. The title is compatible with Movies Anywhere [moviesanywhere.com].

The film is best known for its 1980 film parody, Airplane!, which uses parts of the original screenplay almost verbatim. (Airplane vs. Zero Hour [youtube.com])

I just watched Zero Hour a few weeks ago on TCM. Great movie in itself but you'll instantly recognize the entire Airplane movie throughout it - even the name Ted Stryker/Ted Striker is similar. "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking" even appears in it too. 😆

I'm very grateful that this movie was made. Because of it, we have Airplane! to enjoy Big Grin

Makes a great double feature with Airplane. Here's a hint--do Airplane first, then try to "Rocky Horror" Zero Hour

for those that don't know, many scenes in the movie Airplane! are literally just reshot from Zero Hour! with no changes in dialogue. It's an old movie that has no relevance anymore other than inspiring Airplane!, an absolutely classic comedy.

Would I like this if I also liked movies about Gladiators?

Asking for a friend.

So Airplane which literally took words line for line from Zero Hour!, actually has "relevance today?"

Does Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Gone With the Wind, City of LIghts, Rebecca, or coutnles other films that were made before Zero Hour! have "no relevance anymore?"

Airplane! is practically unwatchanble compared to these films.

Slow down, chief - this ain't Citizen Kane. I think he was merely pointing out that very few people know of this film, myself included, and obviously it's main relevance has been inspiring a more popular, superior successor.

Glottis said that Zero Hour has no relevance anymore (which is arguably true as a quick poll of my friends, 12 people at my house right now, showed none had ever heard of it) . We all knew of, if we haven't at least watched, Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Gone with the Wind. He wasn't saying ALL old movies had no relevance, just one specific movie. This is the problem with society today. We take someone's innocent words and try to twist them to get people riled up about what was said. Come on man.....
