Microsoft has recently announced that the price of Xbox Live Gold is going up. The $60 1 year membership will now be $60 for a 6 month membership. If you are subscribed at the current rate they will honor a renew at your old price.
Retailers are now carrying the new $60 6 month cards. You can get ahead by stocking up on the old cards at their original price points being the price hike. This will make the gamepass trick more expensive too at the new price points, so now is the time.
I've provided a few good prices below. Take advantage while you can.
Costco: 2 years for $95.00

Target: 1 year for $59.99

I was set to expire 1/27/21. I purchased 2x 12 month EA access play cards from shopto. I'm now good till 9/27/21.
Comes to 5.85$/month.. which is definitely worth it for me playing their free games on PC. I pushed it by 8 months to sync up with friends.. but after that, I like many others will probably move away from microsoft.
Probably last chance to stock up before diving in. And to the posts above, who knows what the GPU conversion from XBL will look like in 3 years. Good luck betting on that, Lol...
I'm currently on the $1 for 3 month promotion with Xbox Live, Gamepass, EA
I have a 3 month Xbox Live Code, a 3 month Xbox Gamepass Code and a 3 month gamepass ultimate code.
Based on what we know, what is the best order of operations to get the most out of these? Thanks!
I believe the bad ratio (1:3) is only if you add it to an active GPU account.
This just pushes me to build a PC.
Specifically bought codes from here: https://www.shopto.net/en/dwnld37...6dfb9
I am in the US and it worked for me (no VPN's or anything needed). Comes out to $5.85/month for current GPU subscribers.

Yeah, 1 at a time and for some reason PayPal only lets me buy 2 of them in a 24 hour period before I get some error.
It's legit site though.

covid-19 caused me and a lot of other people to game now more than ever. But honestly I only play 2 games hardcore and rest are either backlogged or 10 min pallet cleaners to get me ready for a another GTAO marathon. I can literally play 1 game all year and get more value from them someone that bought 10 games. GPU doesn't help me, or any other hardcore gamer that plays one or two games a year but plays daily.
On one hand I could agree about adjusting a certain mindset if you want to get more value from GPU. But at the same time I really just sounds like you're carrying water for Microsoft after they just pulled a really bad PR move. And I've carried a lot of water for Microsoft over the past 20 years my friend....
I also play a small number of games a lot in one year, but I like that I can try out new stuff, or throw on a party game if I have guests, or hit up a nostalgia classic with my siblings one weekend. I used to buy 5-10 games a year and not even play some of them. Now I don't. I am definitively paying less because of this service.

If you already have GPU then that was a bad buy.
