I bought these for about $350 about 6 months back and I don't regret they are great value for the money. These have been so heavily discounted because the subwoofer has a flaw. The wireless module on these subs is problematic. When I connected the sub with a cable to my receiver there would always be a very faint burping noise and when I place my fingers on the woofer cone I could feel the random ticks. Upon researching I found out that there could be WiFi/2.4GHz interference causing the problem. This would not let the sub auto shutoff which was not good for me. How ever when connected using the wireless module it was less noisy. I just decided to fix it by disconnecting the wireless module on board in the back of the sub rather than returning it because there's no way you are going to get this good of a 5.1 system for that price. Just unscrew the board and pop the wireless module out. it looks just like the laptop wifi modules. you could also just remove the antenna cable on the module I believe. I just hope many folks here would read this and avoid the frustration. Klipsch should have just removed this module and sold it without the wireless marketing crap. Any way that's good for us customers.

Yes, something needs to decode and convert the digital audio to analog and amplify them to drive the speakers. i.e. a receiver.

This is extremely incorrect. A center channel carries the vast majority of dialog in a movie, so it's actually the most important speaker when it comes to a home theater setup.

Yes I bought the Yamaha TSR -700 as well from Costco. If your projectors have HDMI inputs then you would connect the projector to the HDMI out of the receiver and your streaming device to the input. The receiver has several HDMI inputs for connecting multiple devices.

buy it all, will make a nice budget system

will need 2 atmos speakers to get full benefit from that avr

Yes very much.
I have hooked this to a Yahama AVR which connects to a epson projector...
Added 2 extra speakers to make it a 5.1.2 Atmos setup

Only extra thing you need may be is an
Apple TV or
Xbox

To enjoy the Atmos audio features

I recently heard these paired with an SVS sub and you honestly can't get better sound for the money, this system is more than sufficient for a great surround sound experience

This deal is back as of today. $150 off the member only price. I've been looking for a relatively low cost speaker set that doesn't take up a ton of space and still sounds good. This, to me, is the best deal going.
