And fwiw, their site is fairly basic, doesnt cost a lot to run and develop, and their value comes from their users contributing to the platform.
It's self evident they've shifted to trying to maximize their profits. I dont know how you can endorse Goldman sachs needing more money at the expense of user experience
Can't say it's a slickdeal, but fine price for a fine set.
edit: I see the 3Cs isn't allowed to be posted anymore. Anywho, it was also $36 last November for 10 days and $28 last February. Average price is $41.
it only takes an extra second to search for the item rather than take the referral link. i recommend others do the same

If I was actively working on pocket knives, the Tx6 would get used more

Without cash back from amz and other merchant, slickdeal might not survive any more. But I also do feel the quality and quantity of deals on SD are worse compared to like 5 years ago

This site has to be supported financially in some fashion. You can choose the links, more ads, bigger ads, a membership fee, or a worsening product. I'll take the former.

So which do you choose then? You can villainize the big bad bank, but they have to make a return on investment and then a future profit on top of maintaining this product we all enjoy. I don't know the exact financials of the larger company or of this website (would argue nobody does here), but we can't ignore the basic principles.
This site was founded around people trying to share discounts with others. Now the site is censoring their users on any post that hurts their profit margins (CCC, the recent mac mini deals they scrubbed, etc.)
The site was great back when I started using it in 2010. It's gotten much worse since their acquisition in 2018. So pitting me to answer which type of funding source is best is missing the point entirely. They were successful for a long time and only when they tried to further exploit their users for profit did the user experience take a hit. For this reason, I choose not to use their affiliate links because I fundamentally disagree with the direction they're taking this platform.
This is why you're seeing so many SD-shilled offers for crap products with mega-fake Amazon reviews.
